I don't know what the root cause of this issues but in many ways I am underimpressed. In many cases they have been less than communicative with family about the issues, despite making it very obvious that I wanted to know what was occuring, to help them and help the patient. I reported in appropriate behavior by one of the nurses twice (she was screaming into her phone while talking care of the patient. They have been very unhelpful with food. Their answer is "we don't provide that" but are not forthcoming with possible solutions. The latest seems to be getting milk with his meals. The food service staff flat out tells you they don't have any when in fact someone does some looking and finds some. It is not that difficult. I am also of the opinion that some of the staff are homophobic and it affects the care that they provide. They of course, will never demonstrate this behavior in the presence of another person. Sadly, this facility gets a 4-star rating on the Medicare ratings.

Our dad recently spent three weeks at Manor Care/ProMedica Silver Spring, and we are grateful for the kind and attentive care that he received. While all of the staff treated him well, we were especially impressed and grateful to nurses Shaye and Ruth as well as Director of Nursing Mr. Hannock, physical therapists Raymond and Keith, and dietician Krista.

Thoroughly Disappointed

Didn't see the rooms. Staff are all over the place. Video visits are a plus. This is what what offered: If you have other choices, do not select this nursing home. I chose this nursing home because it had 4 stars but be warned. Less than 24 hours of my dad's stay, his wallet was stolen. His clothes went missing and his life was threatened by a nurse. I transferred him but it was not easy. They do not have staff in place to assist with matters. Two weeks later, still no wallet and all of his IDs were in his wallet. Now I have to shut down his credit and watch over his life even the more. I am going thru hell trying to get my dad readjusted and in trying to get all his IDs all over again. I had just gotten his real ID by a special appointment during COVID. He's 82 and still need all of his stolen IDs. Now he does not want to stay in any nursing homes. Hope this nursing home improves after reading this post.

Thank you to the team, and staff for taking such great care of my dad during this ugly pandemic. It is so wonderful to hear my dad laugh across the miles! Ms. Claire, thank you for BEING AMAZING, and adding your personal touch to keep my dad smiling! Smiling and laughing really is who is has always been, and you are able to bring the best out in him! My mom has been in Manor Care for about 9 years now. I use to go and visit her almost everyday, but during the pandemic time, it's been really hard for me not to be able to visit my mom. The staff at Manor care have been so helpful and patient with me. From the receptionist at the front desk, to the nurses upstairs, they have all been so kind. Even though they are short of staff, they would still take the time to help get the phone to my mom so that I can speak with her. The activity staff are so awesome and Miss Bebe is the best. I appreciate all the help and devotion into keeping my mother and all the residents safe. I pray that God continue to keep you and your family safe throughout these trying times. Thank you so much for all you do every day.

My mother is in Manorcare Health Services-Silver Springs for several months now. We're very pleased with her care. She's had no major problems with them as far as her care go. She's in a private room and she has her own TV in there, a bathroom, a hospital bed and they have a high-backed wheelchair for her. The room is very spacious and always clean. The staff seemed very nice and knowledgeable as well. The entrance is very nice and clean as well, it's a big home. They have an Alzheimer's section and a section for regular patients. They bring in a stylist once a week to do their hair. They have a computer lounge where they can go, and there are several computers there. They also have a lot of activities. The dining room is nice and clean and the courtyard is nice and clean. It's a nice place. My mom didn't like the meals, but it looked very balanced. The price is not too bad, but now it's sky-high because they had to do a lot for my mom, since she can't do anything for herself.

My mother is in Manorcare Health Services. She has a room which they keep tidy and clean. The staff were good-natured and they kept her well-groomed. The food was very good and delicious.

Initially, I had great reservations about the facility. I did not want to leave my mother there and she most certainly did not want to stay. However, I have to say that the therapists that helped her were quite professional and helpful. The nurses were very patient with her and despite her weight, they took care of her with really great care. They were very thorough with her medication and they seemed to administer it on very regular and timely basis. Obviously, there are better nurses than others, so while the average nurse was helpful, there were a few that went above and beyond in helping my mother clean herself and go to the bathroom. Overall, I can't complain about how my mother was treated at this facility. It was the first one that I've ever been associated with, but my initial concerns were alleviated and wasn't concerned with them mistreating her.

Actually, I believe this facility deserves less than one star, but there is no lower designation. My husband is in Manor Care in Silver Spring, MD, which has many severe deficiencies and no positive points. The nursing staff is uncaring and unpleasant, and communicating with them is extremely difficult because almost none of them can speak comprehensible English. The office staff are unresponsive and often do not even return phone calls; give out erroneous information; and often contradict each other in important respects. In addition, small items (stuffed animals, books, and magazines ) disappear from my husband's room. When I visit my husband, the floors in his room are so sticky that it is difficult to lift one's feet, and they are strewn with pieces of empty medicine containers and pieces of disposable medical equipment. Avoid Manor Care in Silver Spring, Maryland at all costs.
