My mother was here for rehab after a fall. She broke her hip and tailbone. She would wait over an hour after pressing the button for a nurse so she could use the bathroom. They never cleaned her room or changed her sheets. The food was terrible and sometimes hard to tell what it was supposed to be. When she asked for a snack she never received it. Some nurses were downright verbally abusive. Their visiting hours were horrible. Even with proof of a Covid vaccine appointments were required and then only Monday-Friday from 1:45-4:00. It was very difficult to get an appointment. My mom felt like a prisoner, not a patient.

We did a lot of research and had high hopes for Friends NH. We were disappointed from the beginning. Our Mother wasn't paired well with her roommate. The roommate yelled out all night even though we had been assured that dementia patients were in a separate area. There was almost continual confusion on what type and if mom would get a meal. They NEVER got her medications right, despite our efforts. The absentee MD has no real connection with the patient. Mom's ability level and mental status went down while she was at Friends and improved once she got home. Her milestones at Friends were determined by her Medicare timelines ($$), not her improvement. We had a bad experience with Friends despite contacting the nurses and management.
