I toured Brookdale Cushing Park. The place was very nice, very, very clean, and very well-organized. The people were very, very friendly. The menu was good, too. I saw people relaxing and enjoying themselves, and I think there was some online seminar there that some of the people were participating in. I was very impressed by it. There's the washer-dryer room, and I think there's one available close to most occupants. I saw the studio, the 1-bedroom, and the 2-bedroom.

I have been in Brookdale Cushing Park for a week now, and I like it very much. It's a great place, it is. Compared to where I was before, I have a beautiful apartment, and there's plenty of room. The living accommodations here are way, way better than I had at the other facility. I got my own bedroom, new appliances in the kitchen, and a new bathroom. I think it's a very good place. They've been very, very welcoming to me, and I like the people here and the staff also. The staff is very good. You get a continental breakfast which is included in your rent, and then for lunch, they have like a sandwich, fries, and a dessert for $4. A full dinner is included in your rent, and the food here is very good. They have activities. The cost of it is about half of where I was before, and my apartment is way better than what I had where I was before.

I visited Brookdale Cushing Park. The person who showed me around was lovely. She was very informative. She knew a lot about the place. She's been there seven or eight years. She showed me both an apartment and a cottage. My only issue was we'll be transferring from a house to this place, and I didn't think there was enough room in either the apartment or the cottage for two people. The place was beautiful and very well kept. Everybody I met was very friendly and very nice. I saw some of the activity rooms. It was a lovely place, and I love the setting. It was in a park.

The one that I went to personally visit was the Brookdale Cushing Park. It's a fantastic facility for the seniors. It is also good pricewise. The rooms are a bit tiny, and they have to do some updates. The rest is fantastic. The lady who showed me around was just kind and very informative. Everybody seemed to be friendly over there. They have a beautiful dining area, and I think it's newly renovated. They have activities for the senior citizens. They have a lot of activities; I was pretty impressed. Because it's facing the pond, it has a beautiful park area where they could walk during the summer and springtime. I'm sure it's beautiful, and everything will be blooming. They have a beautiful area where families can come, congregate, and have dinner or lunch with their loved ones. It was pretty nice; I liked it. The one I visited was independent living, but they have options in case the individual needs further help or extra care as they go old there. They have assisted living and memory care. I spoke to a couple of the older ladies over there, and they seemed pretty happy. The only reason I didn't give them 5 is because the room that I saw at that time, the carpet needed to be changed, and even the stove needed to be changed. The staff said she would do it in case my mother-in-law was interested in staying. They were pretty adaptable. I saw the menu and it seemed pretty interesting. It wasn't a boring menu, but I didn't get the chance to taste the food. Because it's an independent living section of the complex, they have a fridge and a stove. The bathrooms seemed to be pretty safe, and they had all the necessary safety rails. There was an alarm system in case the individual falls down. They had cabinets for storage, a closet in the room, and a window that gives them enough light. It was livable. The room that they showed me, another person had just left; it used to be occupied. It's a nice place for somebody who likes to go on walks because they have a beautiful lake on the other side of the road (which they can have access to). It turns into a frozen pond in the winter. It's a huge lake, and they had swans on it. Where the facility is located, the ground itself is beautiful. There's a huge park full of trees and walkways. I visited it during the winter, so everything is kind of gray in the winter.

Brookdale Cushing Park's place looks nice. I wasn't impressed with the salesperson. The apartments were really, really tiny. Smaller than some of the others that I've seen online. It was only a kitchenette. It reminded me more of a nursing home, rather than independent living. The one apartment that the staff showed me had a balcony, but you couldn't use it because they need to restructure them; they were not stable. I wasn't impressed with the place. I'm not sure how to describe it, but the apartments are too small. The layout is not good. I didn't think it was good. I got the impression that she was just there to sell, sell, sell. In retrospect, it did look like a nice place, but I don't think they kept it up too well.

I worked a lot with Brookdale Cushing Park for my mom, and they were great. I was very pleased with them. We chose it for its location. My mom wanted to stay in her hometown of Framingham, and they were there. She also wanted flexibility in regard to the smoking policy. My mom has been a smoker more often than not in her life, and of all the places in Framingham that I looked at, this was the only place that had an outdoor smoking area where they would allow residents to smoke cigarettes. I actually went ahead, signed a lease, and moved her belongings into an independent living apartment, but she passed away a week and a half after her belongings were moved in. So she remained in the hospital and was not able to move in. Everything seemed to be easily accessible, the decor was warm and inviting, and they were spread out for safety due to COVID, but it was still a warm and inviting place where people could safely connect with each other.

I chose Brookdale Cushing Park because they have cottages outside of the main building, and I'm not in need of assistance at this point. My tour was great, the staff showed me everything from the dining room to all the rooms available. When I saw the cottages, I saw that I would have easier access to my car and also to assistance. I could get across for the meals and everything else, so it's not a big deal. It was a very clean and nice place. They have a little bit of everything in terms of activities, they have cards, it's got outside pathways for walking and sitting. It's like any other set up, but it just had a few more things there that I could take part of. It's also a third cheaper than where I am now.

Brookdale Cushing Park was nice. They got assisted living and independent living. They offered meals for all residents. It was OK, but it was too restrictive for me. I saw one independent living unit. It was a nice little townhouse that had a garage. The kitchen was reasonable and the unit was OK. I met the staff at the front desk and the woman that took us around were both terrific. The dining room looked nice, but we didn't see a lot.

My mom just moved into Brookdale. They have independent living, and my mom's unit has a full kitchen. It was great, and we liked it a lot. It had a park with walking trails. The dining room was fine. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and very willing to help.

Brookdale Cushing Park was clean, and the elevators worked. The rooms were a little small but had full kitchenettes and two bedrooms. They had all the amenities, except for a swimming pool. They had an exercise room with machines, like a treadmill and other things I can use. The food looked good.

I left Brookdale Cushing Park in 2015. The place was very nice and very clean. The staff people were very good. There was Bridge, but most of the people were mentally not well enough to play Bridge, so it wasn’t a lot of fun. The dining area was very nice, except that the food was terrible. Basically, they need to serve better food. The price was good.

Brookdale Cushing Park was very large. They had about 30 or 40 independent homes with garages and everything else, plus independent living in three or four large buildings. We met with the sales director who was very helpful and had a lot of information. We were very satisfied, and it was very good.

Emeritus was excellent and we were very pleased. My mother-in-law is in there. They have many activities, like Zumba, reading, trips to outside, and people would come in for entertainment. The facility is clean and big.
