My dad is still at Casa de Ramana. The staff is terrific. He is getting good care. It seems to be clean. The food is bland and not particularly interesting, but I don't think that's different in any other place. I don't think it's better or not as good as any other place. It's similar to hospital food. The staff are wonderful. I would recommend it.
This place is not particularly convenient geographically for us, but it was the place that was accepting COVID-positive patients. It's not a long-term care facility; it's a rehabilitation facility. In my dad's situation, he was recovering from COVID. There were only two facilities the hospital could discharge him to, and this one had a bed. Basically, that's kind of how the decision making happens in these cases.

My 96-year old mother was stuck in there for a one and a half weeks for rehab after discharge from the hospital. Her personal care was very poor, they did not clean her at all for the first few days and her pink bathrobe was smeared with excrement even as she continued to wear it. I then brought in her plush green bathrobe which was her Christmas gift, and it promptly disappeared. I tried and tried to get the staff to find it, but no luck, and the people in charge insisted it was not there. This happened in late 2022, after it was acquired by a new owner. I will never my mother entry back into that awful place.

Try NOT to be put here unless it’s a short stay. The staff is REALLY slow, like I’ve been waiting for my meds incl. my Anxiety pills. So needless say I’m a mess.
All and all it’s a okay place. It COULD

This place is pitiful. The receptionist say "Yeah. Hold a sec" How professional. The shower schedule is ONE shower per week. I am relieved my Dad will have been taken out of there tomorrow. The place is really bad !

This is an absolutely abhorrent facility. Nursing staff is slow to respond to patient requests even when visitors are present. If this is how they act when company is there, I can only imagine how patients are treated when there is no one there to monitor them.
Infection is rampant. There are very few hand sanitizers in the facility and very rarely are they used by the staff. Same with gloves, especially with infected patients. Every member of the staff should use them both when they enter and leave patient's room. I have been in a number of facilities visiting and this is the only one that does not require staff members to stay clean. Is it a money thing at the cost of the patients?

If I could give 3.5-4 stars I would. This facility is chock full of healthcare providers who really care. The CNAs are lovely and caring; the nursing staff are also compassionate and try to make being in a rehab or skilled nursing facility somewhat enjoyable.
There are some pros and cons:
Pros -
* very caring and compassionate staff -
* Activities: the Activity director works hard to bring in fun entertainment, and offers stimulating and thoughtful activities.
* Responsive people. If you don't like a meal, you're offered an alternative. During my visit, one of the staff went to Bertucci's to get my friend some Italian soup!
* The Rehab team - Heck, they are why you are here. These folks are great and the virtual rehab system is a blast!! It is so much fun that you want to continue working!
Cons -
- The food, like most institutions, leaves something to be desired. sometimes missing butter, or condiments, etc.
- The first floor is nicest in this facility. The 2nd and 3rd floors are tired and old looking. A good coat of paint, nice bedding new window treatments would help tremendously.

I new I was in trouble the moment I arrived. KD staff promised to have the treatment equipment I needed upon arrival, important because a two-hour window was in effect. Not only did they NOT have it, but I was told by a nurse to "keep your pants on" when I asked for a status after five hours. The equipment was finally attached after seven hours. When I asked why it wasn't working the way it did in the hospital, another nurse questioned why I was asking and said to trust her. As much as the equipment delay is an issue, it's the attitude of the staff that is causing me to award one star.

There was no way I would put my dad in Kathleen Daniel Nursing Home. The outside area was just awful. It was in a very depressing neighborhood. I didn't like the location at all. The rooms they did have were of good size. They were fairly large and nice. The dining area was nice too. With regards to staffing, however, I don't think the ratio was quite as high as some other places I was in. There was very little administrative support there especially on the weekend. The day I went there, the person who gave me a tour was the chef, so to try to get answers about something was just tough at that time.

This was a pretty good nursing facility. They provided pretty good activities to keep the people there occupied, and they did a good job taking care of them. I would go and visit my grandmother about once a month, and then in addition I would go there a few more times a year to volunteer. As a church we would bring our Christmas choir there every year to sing to the residents. While they do an all right job taking care of the residents, they are not very easy to work with sometimes. I can remember many times where we wanted them to take care of my grandmother in a certain way, and they did not follow our instructions because they wanted to stick to their own way of doing things. Some of the staff was very friendly and helpful, while some of the staff was a little bit less friendly. You could tell that some of the staff there did not really want to be there. I would recommend this facility to people just because it has a great central location to anyone that is living in the Metrowest community, but there are definitely better nursing homes out there.
