This facility should be shut down immediately. My mother was sent here by the social worker at east Jefferson hospital after a fall and hip surgery. I was not even given the opportunity to visit or investigate other options first. My mother’s experience their was the worst experience beyond belief. She was left in a wheel chair all day and was dripping in urine from her chair because the help was more concerned about their cell phone activities and watching tv than patient care. The food was horrible Each day I came twice to bring food. My mother had a serious urine tract infection due to total neglect and the aids there would forget to give her the medications prescribed to treat the urinary tract infections. They woke her up at 6 am and forced her to sit at a table all by herself with no newspaper or food until hours later. They screamed at her and argued with her and never treated her with respect. The rooms do not have telephones. Not once in over 40 days was I consulted on her progress or her condition. The aide there was insisting that ,y mother remain and never even come home. It was the worst smelly filthy place and it should be shut down. They stole my mother’s clothes and when you report it nothing is done. Do not ever go there you will be sickened by the odors. I saw my mother’s records and they had on her records that she was black and my mother is white . I reported it and they ignored it. They do not answer their phones and the management never returns calls. It is a horror and I am still trying to figure out how to have this horrible place shut down. The staff was horrible . The staff turns off all of the lights at7pm and expect the people to go to sleep so they will be bothered. I complained that my mother’s clothes were being stolen and was totally ignored by the social worker there who is very rude and mean spirited. The social worker mocked me constantly and insulted my mother and I to our faces. This facility should be shut down immediately. It deserves a zero star rating . They forced my mother to wear diapers and would mishandle her roughly and talk around her like she was not even present in the room like she did not even exist as a person . The social worker told ,e that I was not allowed to use the toilet in my mother’s room when I was visiting so I had to walk down the hall at least 200 feet away and get a key and wait in line to use a public toilet there that was never flushed and the toilet seat was always up and smelled like strong urine. The head administrator never even introduced himself to me once nor did he ever visit my mom one time to oversee the horror that is ongoing there. When you press the red button for help to get to the bathroom ; you are ignored for at least an hour and told that your aid was on break or at lunch. When you go in the hall she is standing around gossiping with other employees and mocking me and rudely imitating the way I walk or talk. When you call to get information about my mom , I am screamed at and told they are doing rounds and are too busy to talk to me. DO NOT ever go there. My mom had two doctors appointments to go to out of the facility for her eyes and they had been given notice to get her transportation and when the date arrived they all acted totally clueless and no one knew anything about the arrangements that I had confirmed over and over the days before. I told them my mom did not eat fried food or red meat so they totally ignore this . I had to bring food twice a day and find my mom over drugged and sitting in a wheel chair dripping with urine and cold because they would not offer her a blanket.
