My brother is at Hilltop Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. They take care of him, provide him meals, and bathe him. They have CNAs that come in and accompany him. They help him eat because he's now having trouble eating. He does have a roommate because he has a shared room. They attend to him medically. They do good work there. They walk me through all the process to get my brother in there and even get him qualified for Medicaid. They've been very helpful. They have group sessions where they play games or do a little dancing for those who can dance. Their meals are good.

Staff are not trained in how to redirect and interact with Alzheimers patients. My dad, even with an ankle bracelet, wandered out of the facility numerous times. He has only been a resident for one day and they called us to come get him or they threatened to send him to a psychiatric facility.
The staff is not accommodating at all, but they know they are one of the few funded VA options. It's a real shame when you serve your country for over 25 years and when you are in need you are unable to get the care you deserve.

I wasn't very impressed with the facility at all. The staff wasn't very friendly and it was hard to find someone to answer questions. There was nothing entertaining for the residents to do other than Bingo on Sunday afternoon for about an hour. The food wasn't appetizing. I wouldn't suggest placing a loved one here it reminded me of a state run facility.
