I put my brother in Canterbury House Assisted Living last Friday. I'm very happy with it. We spent about several hours over there, and I was very pleased with them and their staff. We ate breakfast there that Friday morning, and it was good. I didn't have any problem with it. The facility's condition is topnotch. In fact, when we were there, they were painting the walls. A lot of maintenance was going on, and they're upgrading everything. I was impressed.

I visited my dad at the Canterbury House. I don't think they keep it very clean, and to me that's important. I also don't think that they do a very good job of communicating all the time; sometimes they do, but not always. The room is fine if they keep them clean. We tried quite a bit of their food, and it wasn't bad. It is bland, but I understand why they make it that way for the residents, 'cause a lot of them can't handle spices. For my own personal taste, it was OK, but my dad seems to like it and that's important. I just don't think they give very healthy food. The majority of the staff I ran into was very nice. I know they have bingo, a bible study once a week, and I know that they celebrate the different Holidays with the residents.

My in-laws stayed at Canterbury House. I particularly liked it. The only problem was they didn't offer memory care. It's very nice and they had a little studio apartment. They washed their clothes and did their housekeeping. It was just a really good place, but they mainly just stayed in their room because he could get out of their room and get out on the street there. The staff was good, the facility was nice, and the pricing was very good.

This is a beautiful place and every resident that I came in contact with was happy. My brother is in this facility and I asked him if he was happy and he had a resounding YES! It is clean, the apartments are nice and well kept, and I have spoken with two of the Office personnel and there were very kind, considerate, and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to others!

I recently placed my mother at Canterbury House. We chose this facility because it is locally owned and operated. After touring other facilities in the area this facility was the most willing to accommodate my mothers everyday needs. I was given one flat fee that included everything. They even provided my mother transportation to doctor visits at no additional cost, which was a huge help to my family. I loved the family oriented atmosphere and the staff was very welcoming and made my mother feel right at home. We are allowed to have meals with my mother anytime. The meals are prepared by a chef and are very tasteful.

My aunt is a resident and pays for the highest level of care. The food is abominable; her room is unkempt; staff is surly. We are looking to move her.

I was disappointed. It was supposed to have recently been redone but the the apartments I was shown had not been, and it was more for independent living rather than for assisted living. They told me that once we would get mom and dad in there, then they will put up the rails that was required for disabled people. They only had one or two apartments that had a walk in shower. It had an odd smell to me. The dining room was small. The people were very nice it's just the facility itself. It's not the best location in town and that was a big issue with my mom and dad. It has three levels to it which is okay. It has an elevator, whereas the other facility I've visited is all one level so it's a lot easier to maneuver over there than it is for Canterbury House. It has an odd layout more like a hotel but the apartments were spacious. They just needed to do a little more upgrading. They showed me a room, there were no handicap rails anywhere in it. In the kitchen, part of the tile that they had on the floor I was told was new but was peeling, the carpets had stains in it. It was not the best at all. I did not feel comfortable.
