I like that Lexington Premier Nursing and Rehab is not overly expensive. It's reasonably priced. They've got rehab and nursing facilities there. The people seem to know what they're doing and they're friendly. It's not a fancy place, but it's clean, well-kept, and it's close. It's only about six miles from where I live.
My mom is in a shared room. There are little curtains that you can pull around your bed if you want more privacy. There's a nice bathroom with the usual thing you can press if you have trouble, and each bed comes with a button that you can press. They've got an activities room and I've seen a little side room that has some tables in it. Each calendar month, they put it up on the wall that tells you what's going on each day. They have a lot of activities and just about anything you want. They play a lot of bingo, there are cards, board games, a main TV viewing area plus each room has its own TV. They have very, very nice people.

First off this review is for the Rehab part of Premier but I do have some insight from the nursing home as well. My grandmother was recently placed in Lex Premier's care for a 2 week stay while she continued antibiotics to fight off an infection and to gain strength. We were excited to find that the room she was in was clean and felt like she was in good hands. Going in she was still sick but able to walk around with a walker and generally was in good spirits. Over the next 5 days I saw a HUGE decline in her health, I would constantly ask staff what was going on and they told me she was weak from the hospital. My grandmother started talking out of her head like she had dementia, I mentioned this to staff and they told me this might be her new reality. I was very concerned for her but at each step I was being told to "trust the process."
Fast forward to her final day at Lexington Premier, she is completely non verbal and bed bound. Her skin is greying and she is obviously in really bad shape and had her in diapers. I went to staff and asked how long she had been like this and they told me she was fine earlier (i don't know what earlier was but it was past lunch and she had no food in the room). I told them to immediately call 911 and get her back to the hospital, they treated me like I was overreacting but I insisted. Paramedics came and staff tells them the same, she was fine earlier. She was not, i doubt anyone even checked on her that day.
I waited to leave this review to see how she fared after the hospital and now I am glad to report that she is fine. She told me that staff would come into her room and remove her call button in the night, she only remembers doing rehab once in 6 days, they didn't care if she ate or not. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU HERE. Staff just gossip in the halls or text on their phone. If you don't believe me, try going through the front door. It has a lock that doesn't work correctly and get ready to wait 10 minutes before an annoyed nurse decides to let you in. And when they do they just walk off, not interested in helping you. If you are looking for a good place to die, this is it. If you need rehab go ANYWHERE else, go home even, you'll be in much better shape.
I know that this seems sensationalist but trust me, there's to much bad to leave in this review. This place doesn't deserve the single star I had to give it. DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES STAY HERE!! I REPEAT, DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES STAY HERE!! Decline if you get sent here and choose another place, the staff is only wasting time until they can go out back and smoke another cigarette.

Richmond Place Rehabilitation And Health Center was a nice place. My sister's room there was just like a hospital room with a hospital bed, she had a private bathroom. It was fine for what she needed. The staff built her a little custom walker that she could use. The service there was really good, like if you needed something they would work hard to get it. The community was fine.

Richmond Place Rehabilitation and Health Center was very nice, well-maintained, very clean, and there's no odor. They had good staff. The people were very good and seemed to have enough help. My friend had physical therapy there, which really helped her, because she wasn't able to do much at all. She got to where she did walk up to the front. She participated in some of the ice cream things and watching TV. She couldn't go to the dining room at first. She wasn't able to walk, so they brought her meals to the room. Since they do the dining room first, the meal arrived later, but she said the food was very good and she loved it. The quality of the food was good. They had lunch at 12:00, and she didn't get hers until 1:15 or 1:30 because they had to serve the dining room first. That was the only complaint, but it was good.

My mother was a patient in the rehab for 4 weeks. The rehab department is beautiful, clean and very private. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Therapists, nurses and aids are professional. By far the most beautiful facility/rehab we toured. Rooms are huge and private. Would have given 5 stars but meal quality didn't meet my expectations. I like that the rehab department and patients are separated from the nursing home in a self contained unit. I entered through the back door as I did not enjoy being in the long term care section. Will definitely recommend facility to anyone needing help while recovering.

My father has moved into Richmond Place. We chose it because it was clean and the people were friendly. Their food looks very good. My father has been eating, and he said it was good.
Right in the building, they have a salon and a library. They also have an event room that they can go and make things like a creative area. It is just very comfortable there. It's a one-floor stairs. There's no elevators. There is none like that I have to worry about. My father has only been there for only a month and a half.

My grandmother broke her hip and came to Richmond place Rehab, and I couldn't believe how some of these night Nurses could be so lazy. As a nurse, your value is to do your best in taking care of the sick. My family has encounter so many times, waiting on meds. Longest we waited was almost an hour, and that is not right. For example one night, my grandma was confused and didn't know where she was. She has a pill that helps calm her and so I pushed the button, the aid came in and I asked to talk to the nurse. My mom had called 30 min before I press the button to talk to the nurse and she said she would bring my grandma the pill. 10 min after the Aid said she would go check and I saw her talking to the nurse, she looked like she was pulling out the pill so I went back to keep my grandma calm. Another 10 min pass and I poke my head out and the nurse was still at her cart. When she saw me, she moved her cart toward my grandmothers room so I told my grandma, the nurse was coming, but after a couple of mins she didn't come into the room. Now it has been almost 45min and I waited very patiently because I know they can be busy. Finally she came in and gave my grandma all her pills for night time. She didn't say sorry or explain what took her so long to bring the meds. I stayed calm till my grandma settled in and went to bed. I saw the nurse and asked her to explain why she took so long, her first excuse was she had to give meds to a patient who was dying. Okay, understandable but then I said, "it doesn't take almost an hour to give one person their meds." She said no, but I have to document it." I said, "I understand but when you saw me pop my head out, you could have wave me down and let me know that it would be a min. Or so." She then had the nerves to say that she thought I was her sitter! This is so sad to hear a nurse say that! There is a lot of people who have sitters because their family can't be with them everyday or every hour and to know that your love one is treated differently because their family isn't with them all the time makes me very ill to my stomach. There are other patients there who families can't come all the time or can't afford a sitter, and I wonder how they treat them. I hope by reading my review you will think twice about this place.

I have a friend doing rehab at Richmond Place, and also have a friend who has a relative there.
There is a lot to like and a lot to dislike about Richmond Place.
The facility is attractive both inside and out. Seems very clean. The employees who have contact with the patients seem very friendly, helpful and competent.
I've heard many complaints about the food. It can sometimes be of poor quality, and the quantity is often inadequate for some patients. Also, there have been problems with getting the right kind of food to patients that have dietary constraints.
There have been problems with billing and other administrative issues.
It took a long time for my friend to get a working television in his room. The televisions themselves are small, and often cannot be positioned in such a manner that the patient can see them.
You can certainly find facilities that are worse than Richmond Place, but you find better as well.
