We chose Boonespring of Boone County because my dad was there before for rehab. He spent time there before and the staff was really good. Everything about the place was nice, the care was good, and the rooms were beautiful; it's a newly-built community. It was built around 2016 and it looked like a resort. They have different levels of memory care, there's a dementia ward, an Alzhiemer's ward, and a locked ward. They had a formal dining room, but you can eat in your room if you don't feel like going to the dining room. The food was good, and he enjoyed the food. They also had a couple of chefs who came up to me to talk about special diets or if there was anything the residents would like to eat. The diet was good, the dining was good, and I could eat there for $5. I would come over during my lunch sometimes and sit in the dining room and eat with him. They would take the residents out to the mall, to the theater, and they also had rehab right there for occupational, physical, and speech rehab. My dad said that if he would have to go somewhere, he would go back there.
