I have had my mom in other facilities for rehab and this place has exceeded my expectations! Private room with bay window, private bathroom with shower in bathroom. The compassionate care that the nursing staff provide to my mom is so incredible and unheard of these days. Thank you for all you do for her, we are forever indebted.

Masonic Home Louisville did a great job. The facility was very nice. It's well-maintained and they were responsive. My mother was in rehab and they seemed to have a very well staffed and well- appointed rehabilitation facility. Medicare covered it all.

I visit a friend on a routine basis. The call bell has never been answered promptly, in fact, it is always over 30 minutes. The staff checks in on my friend sporadically; recently he was on the floor when another relative arrived. When help is needed, the aides always take care of their routine chores first, then help the patient. Routine chores take priority over patient care. I would never recommend this facility to anyone, even though the physical appearance is impressive.

The grounds and buildings were beyond beautiful. The staff was nice and polite. The difficulty I encountered were the long waits after putting on a call light. Sometimes as long as 2 hours would pass before the light was answered.
It seems that pain control is an issue that is not well understood by nursing staff. They may want to consider taking some classes in that area to become more aware of pain control issues. Another problem is communication between the case mangers and insurance companies, which can sometimes cost the impatient several hundreds of dollars. The therapy department is very good but they often let people go before their potential mobility and strength is regained. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.
It appeared that a lack of knowledge and sincere care is covered up with up court yards, waterfalls, and expensive fish. I would often hear nursing gossiping and whispering to each other in the hallways.

Masonic Home was more of a nice, personal care center where everyone had their own 24-hour nursing staff. It also had a rehab center attached. It was a very nice place and very big. They had two beauty salons, a chapel, and an activity calendar with activities every day.

My mother-in-law was in a community named Masonic Homes in Louisville. I was satisfied with the kind of care she got over there. The overall care she was getting was excellent. She was actually in the independent living apartment there. But she had a fall and broke her hip. So she was transferred to the other wing which is more of a nursing facility. They will call me and my husband if there was a concern or a problem. The staff was very good. I am very impressed with the people who work for this kind of facility. They are very caring, and they really seem to try to do their very best for the patients.

Sam Swope Care Center is brand new. It's a wonderful facility. The staff is very good and very personable. They're taking good care of my dad. I have no complaints at all.
