The decor at The Oxford Grand Assisted Living & Memory Care was beautiful. Our biggest problem is they have no openings. They're full. The staff was very informative and very welcoming. They made my brother and my sister-in-law feel very comfortable. I had the chance to look at the menus. They have a really neat dining room and dining program. The residents can go eat from 7:00 to 9:00 at any time they want. They get to order like a restaurant. They have a salon, a number of activity rooms, a nice library, and a family dining area. It was very clean and very well kept.

I'm not sure how long it's been since the Amenities section was updated but A LOT of them don't exist! Staff is rude to residents that don't fit their lazy narrative & ask them to do their job. Their definition of "assisted living" means they want to help when it's convenient to them, not when the resident needs to be assisted. They have outdated technology for their "safety fob" necklace, which doesn't always stay off when staff finally shows up after it's pressed, or go on at all when it is pressed, then get mad at the resident, and the necklaces don't have GPS if the resident is outside their room & needs help.

Though the facility & department supervisors all seem to care about Oxford & the residents, there is a high turnover of minimally caring staff in ALL areas of the function of the facility. They don't get to know the residents, they don't learn about them, talk about books or movies or current events. They don't ask about family or ask new residents how they are doing with the transition to facility life. They don't take 5 extra minutes for an ongoing game or puzzle. It used to be 4 out of 5 stars, especially the dining room, but as the rates have gone up, the corporate side has come through; our loved ones are just dollar signs now, hospital patients at best. Spend those dollars elsewhere, PLEASE, your loved one is worth more effort than Oxford is willing to put forth at this time! Right now, Oxford is not living up to the quality the name suggests. It's a very sad place, besides being dark & dingy, the attitude of the staff is reflected in the lack of happiness of the residents who now stay confined to their rooms & don't interact with each other, it is no longer a dynamic facility of neighbors. The liveliness & lightness of spirit has left the building. It & its residents seem to be just biding their time.

My mother lived in the Villa for 3 years and the assisted living for 1 year. Both facilities were wonderful. The facilities were well maintained and the individual rooms were very nice. The staff at each place was very good and work hard at keeping resident’s engaged. We had more interaction with the assisted living staff and found them to be compassionate and attentive to our loved one. They also work hard to keep family members informed and assist them in any way that they can.

My mother-in-law was in The Oxford Grand Assisted Living & Memory Care. It was good, the food was very good, but the staff seemed to change often which was my biggest complaint. Other than that it was very good. It was a beautiful building. It was nice. The staff was kind. It was clean. I know they did exercise. They had Bible study, they had a lady come in and give creative writing lessons. They had a lot of people come in for programs. I know they did crafts. They did a variety of good things.

We walked around The Oxford Grand Assisted Living with a staff member. Because it is still fairly new, everything was very nice and up-to-date. They showed us a room, an exercise room, and an activity room where there was a class going on at the time. The staff was very accommodating. They are also in the general neighborhood where we currently live.

My mother has lived at the Oxford just over 3 years. It is a very nice place with caring staff. The dining room is so nice and the food is great. There are lots of activities and "outings" ! I give the Oxford the highest rating due to the excellent staff and their caring ways.

I had my dad here at the Oxford Grand. I have never met so many caring staff members. They went way above my wildest expectations when it came to caring for him. This is the first time that I didn't cry on the way home, because I knew that they cared so much for my dad. They became family, and I cherish every relationship I have made there! If you have a love one this is the place you want your family to be!

The building is flashy and new. That gets them 2 stars. The staff do just enough not to hear you complain. If you voice your concern to management - you're told all the reasons why YOU are wrong and YOU don't understand how it really works. All-in-all, the building is nice but that doesn't justify the price. My advice - spend less and get the same quality product.

Dad moved in May 2014. They are always under staffed, one CNA for the entire building many nights. Dad fell and laid on the ground pushing his call button, it took 25 minutes for help to come. The food should be better for the money they charge, pretty institutional. The building is beautiful and new and the grounds are nice.

The Oxford Grand is a new facility. They're probably 2/3 full. My mother moved there on the first of January. It's memory care attached to an assisted living facility, but this thing is ready to explode. They have a 300-acre site right there, and they have a plan to fully develop it. They're going to have independent living and long-term care.
I was impressed with the facility. The layout is very nice, it's in big squares. I have looked at the engineering. The heat has not been sufficient, and the heat is not yet fixed. They need to replace the furnaces. They're running on portable heaters, and I have complained. It's a 1-bedroom. They have a very nice dining hall with extended hours, and the residents order from a menu. They have meals in the room.
My experience is that they're still tooling it up a bit. My mother is 5 feet tall, and the cabinets were 21 inches above the counter top. She could hardly reach the handle along the shelf, but they came in and they redid it. They lowered it at first, and took the door-closer off because she's on a walker. They try as hard as they can. The staff is very compliant with the resident's needs.

The Oxford Grand is a great place. The whole staff is really nice. They're helpful: you can ask them anything. They have lots of activities, and with the warmer weather coming, they have more that they'll be doing outside. They're going to have outdoor movies on the deck. There's a little lake there that they can fish in if they want to.
I've eaten up there. The food is really good. It was a chef from a prominent restaurant here in town who went over there and worked. It's like a restaurant setting; it's not like a care home setting. It's a really nice place, but pricey like all of them.
They have all types of care. Right now, it's assisted living. They have a memory care facility there, and I think they're getting ready to build independent living rooms. I would recommend them to anybody.
