Therapy there was non existent for my mother n law. She broke both her wrists and they did not want to help her...said she could manage things on her own, which is sad considering she is 80 years old.

EXTREMELY DISGUSTED AND APPAULDED
December 10, 2017
My Brother was a resident of Holiday Resort recently for a couple of months....way too long for anyone to experience the lack care, lack of attention, lack of concern and down right neglect that he went thru. He was a paraplegic unable to do anything for himself. His call light button was frequently out of reach so in order to get any assistance, he had to resort to yelling for help which annoyed the staff resulting in them shutting his door and ignoring him for all periods at a time. He developed a number of open bed sores due to the staff not turning him, He had a number of UTI's and sent to the ER for dehydration due to staff not providing adequate water to drink within his reach. The facility was way understaffed and the majority of the time the nursing staff would sit in the nurses room huddled together talking rather an caring for patients. The facility may physically look good on the surface but please don't let the wolf in sheep's clothing fool you. It is not a facility you want to send any loved one to even for a short recovery time. Unfortunately, or in this case, fortunately my brother died 2 days after moving him from this facility. However, I know in my heart of hearts that his death would not have occurred so soon if he had had better care from the beginning. This experience has been the most horrifying, unbelievable experience of my life. Totally shameful.

There is not enough staff at the Holiday Resort. The ratio for aid per resident should be 1 aid to 5 or 7 residents. But here it's only 1 aid to 15 or 20 residents. This leaves room for a lot of neglect. My mother has been here almost 2 years. We are very disappointed. She doesn't get taken to the bathroom often enough, and she doesn't get enough water during meals. She has had many UTI's due to this, and has wound up in the hospital many times. They have a very high turnover rate with the help. The aides are overworked (sometimes 16 hours a day). They wind up quitting.
