About This Community

Long-Term Skilled Nursing Suite

These private skilled nursing suites include an adjustable bed and bedside table, however we encourage families to bring their own furniture to create a more comfortable, homelike setting. A bay window provides abundant light and space for additional furniture. Theses suites also feature a private bathroom, closet, individually controlled thermostat and landline telephone.

Features and Services

Designed with privacy in mind, the Weinberg Health Center primarily offers private suites for long-term skilled nursing care. In addition, a licensed social worker will provide regular conferences to keep family members involved in their loved one’s care.

Our residents also enjoy:

  • Transportation services
  • Structured activity programming
  • Intimate, family-oriented dining areas and parlors
  • Respite and hospice programs

Village Shalom offers a wide array of amenities that provide our residents with convenient alternatives to traveling out for errands. There’s our Wellness Center, two salons, a library, mailing services, and our contemporary art gallery.

We have an on-site dental clinic with appointments available to our residents once a week. An audiologist, podiatrist and eye-care provider also visit the campus to provide services to our residents.

Staff are poorly trained and the care the residents get is a disgrace. Rooms are not cleaned and residents aren't given showers.

I'm very familiar with Village Shalom because my mother-in-law goes there twice a week for adult day care. It is very expensive but it gives her a great stimulation which people needs. I have gone there to visit friends and to participate in activities and services. They have all kinds of things from bingo, studies, to academics, you name it, they have it. It's an amazing facility. It is small. They have a lot of staff. I like the staff a lot; however, it is expensive. They'll give you a private dining room for the family, which is nice. They have films, they have speakers, they have whatever you need. What really attracts me to this community is the fact that it is a Jewish facility and we are Jewish and it gives all the Jewish things, i.e., the services, the holidays, the kosher foods, it gives you all of that. If you're Jewish, it is fantastic. Now you don't have to be Jewish, they have a lot of people there who are not.

Village Shalom was very nice. They had therapy for those who needed it. They also had swimming pool therapy. They kept it at a very high temperature, and they had equipment that can lower anybody into it. It was an excellent place.

The nurse gave us a very good explanation of the services, but they have no Medicare and the price was high for us. They were able to address all our questions. It’s a very good facility.
