My mom moved into The Sheridan at Overland Park. They worked with us real well, and she only had to be quarantined for five days, because she's only there for a month. The staff communicates by email, and they only call when there's a problem, and they're very responsive. It's pretty, they have outdoor spaces, it's kind of tricky to get to, but it's fairly accessible to the highly, and it's set by itself, there's not a lot around it. It's more like a retirement community. They provide all her meals, she's getting physical therapy, occupational therapy, and she has a nurse. She's gotten a little bit active and she plays bingo every other day.

My visit to The Sheridan at Overland Park was very good. The person who showed me around was very nice and informative. It was great. They take the residents to places periodically. The rooms were very nice and good. They have a salon and really good food. They offer a lot of the basic services. The staff seemed professional and helpful. The place was clean and had the look of an upscale hotel versus a nursing home. They have a lot of windows in the dining area.

The Sheridan at Overland Park is clean, immaculate, uplifting, and encouraging. My husband has done marvelously there, and I'm so pleased with it. They encourage his independence, yet they take care of him. The staff is marvelous, kind, and caring. I can't say enough good things about them. It's an excellent place, and I would recommend them to anyone.

A lot of the allure of The Sheridan at Overland Park was that it was a little more convenient to where I live, it was new, and they weren't fully occupied yet, so the people who lived there, especially on the memory care floor, would get more attention. My mom have real special needs and we were able to negotiate and work out a plan for her before I committed to them. Not everyone was willing to do that, so they just went above and beyond to make sure my mom would get the kind of care she needed. They have something scheduled every morning and every afternoon, whether it's hopping on a bus to go somewhere or bringing some kind of entertainment, and sometimes it's just hanging around doing puzzles. They also have a device that's a little bit like a computer on a stand which has all this pre-programmed stuff in it so they can listen to oldies music, dance, and work out. There's stuff there to stimulate thinking and body movement. Some of their staff was a little bit new and we had to work through a few things that either they didn't know or understand because not everybody is educated with what my mom can and can't have with her diet. They have a system in place where the nurse sends dietary needs instructions to the chef and the chef will prepare food based on that individual.

Lovely new facility with pleasant environment and great caring staff interested in connecting with residents and families. Chef prepares healthy meals with a variety of options. Activity options throughout day and will grow as residents' numbers increase. All reflects having an outstanding executive director at the helm.
