est place ever. Looked at several places in Lawrence to take care of my dad after having a terrible experience at a big nursing home. This is the only place I would put someone. Not a nursing home. The staff tries so hard and the managers care. More staff than any place by far. unfortunately, we had to learn this the hard way because we went to a big fancy place that cost more first, thinking Dad would actually do regular activities. BridgeHaven does karaoke and has barbecues and sits with their clients by the pond and feeds the fish. He has been so happy here. I can't say enough good things about it and everyone there. Our family can't thank Bridge Haven enough for all the wonderful care and patience for our mother. She was always happy and well fed. Often, she was in the middle of a sing-along or a balloon toss. The staff found her purposeful and simple ways to "help" in the kitchen. Mom loved to hold hands and she sat on the front of back porch holding hands with a staff member. Every other place we looked at did not have enough staff to have given her this much personal attention. We saw the Directors on weekends frequently and they vigiled with us at the end of Mom's life. We could not have been happier. The last years of her life were full of joy.

Bridge Haven is very small, didn't have a lot of people there, and didn't seem to have a lot of activities. Whenever I am there, they are not doing anything or having any kind of stimulation. They don’t do anything in the rooms except go out when it’s time to pee. They just lay around and sleep most of the time.
