Amazing staff with excellent communication. They go above and beyond. Community environment is very cozy with many activities for the residents. Their face book page and newsletters help family many miles away say in touch. I give them a 5 star!!

My mother is at Brookdale Hays. The experience has been somewhat OK. At first it was a little up and down just to get everything settled in, but now it has gotten better, and she's gotten used to her surroundings. Her room is a good size, and she got to bring her own furniture, which is nice. The staff is all caring, but they just need to have more staff members. I personally think they need to be more one-on-one. They have some games and exercises. It's expensive.

my mother was a resident for 5 years. those were good years for her at sterling house. they took good care of her and treated like a friend. During her last illness they were especially nice and I saw this as I was there a lot. It was small town care at its best.

My mom has moved into Brookdale Hays. The staff and the food are very good. Her room is small, but it is laid out nicely. They have bingo, exercise classes, card games, and things like that.

My dad has been at Sterling House for about 3 years. He had choices of where to go for assisted living, and he chose Sterling House. The staff is considerate and professional - and most of all, they care. Whether it is taking the time for a visit or keeping vigilance of his health needs. I know that my dad is safe and receives care to a standard that meets my expectations and his. I can contact any of the staff at any time and they make me feel that my dad is their priority - even though there are 30 some residents. I am greatful that Sterling House is available for my dad, and me!

I would oftentimes visit this assisted living facility to visit my great aunt when she was living here. It was very clean and tidy. The grounds were also kept up and looked very appealing at all times. The floor plans were also spacious and nice and obviously built with elderly people in mind - almost to a fault at times however as they look a bit awkwardly spacious. The staff was very nice and attentive, yet they were not always welcoming to visitors and guests. They were never explicitly rude; however, one woman in particular always seemed like she was miserable there and spoke to the residents and visitors with little respect. I feel like an assisted living facility needs employees that are extremely happy to be working with people and are able to maintain that image even when they are not happy to be at work. They also need to appreciate their work and consider that they are working with the elderly that regardless if they need assisted living or not, they still deserve the utmost respect. My aunt enjoyed living here; however, the staff seemed to be comfortable and did not seem to go above and beyond expectations.
