Emerald Place is a beautiful assisted living community and well-staffed with very caring and compassionate workers. The tour showed us all of the room options that were available, the dining facility, the extra community areas, as well as the gardens and outside areas. They have nice outside areas. The consultation with the community services manager was great. She answered all of our questions and gave us lots of information about how my mom's living arrangements would go, as well as the services available and the costs for extra levels of care. We chose it because of the staff mostly, and the fact that the community is smaller. There is more attention paid to the residents. They have both studios and a 1-bedroom apartment. The 1-bedrooms have a kitchenette and the studios don't. They have an area where they have books and movies available. They have a beauty salon, and it is a service that they offer regularly. They have lots of different activities available daily, including various levels of ability for exercise. They do (without extra charge) attend to their residents daily. The residents have the ability to wear an alert necklace. If there's anything that they need, it's not going to be a problem. They check on them during the night, as well as during the day. The additional ala carte services, if a resident needs it, are the extended daily regular assistance. Bathing, dressing, and getting to the bathroom are already included. I think monitoring their medication is also included. The facility is very clean and very well laid out, so that nobody has to walk too far to the dining area.
