We had to move my dad out of West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation. It's terrible. Every time they called us, he ended up in somebody else's room (because he was going to the bathroom). They were not watching him. They didn't have the staff, but that's not our fault. They said my dad fell and broke two or three of his ribs. But they were supposed to be watching him as he was going to the bathroom. This was the second call we got about something that happened at that facility. We weren't comfortable with him being there. That's when we started looking to get him out of there and that's what we did. The staff that was there was okay. They took him and washed him up, but every time we go to try to take my dad out, he never had his clothes, and they couldn't find his clothes. We were upset about that part of the staff. Other than that, the staff was nice. When we entered the building, it was clean. I like the security because it was good. But when you go upstairs, it wasn't good at all because they had roaches there. It wasn't clean at all. I also never saw my dad in any activities. He was always either in his room or sitting in the area where they watch TV. In terms of value for money, they were reasonable. They helped him get on Medicare for him to stay there.

Even with the challenges of staffing and COVID in healthcare, West Bend's staff have gone above and beyond to accommodate my family member. The managers are very informative and kept our family updated throughout the process while my dad was in rehab. Building is outdated but it isn't always about the bells and whistles!

My dad has not been at this facility in eight years they mistakenly called and told me that my father has passed away at 4 in the morning and it took them 45 minutes to figure out their mistake that tells me how well they keep their patient if they can't even figure out paperwork because someone has a similar name

My mom is in West Bed Nursing and Rehab. I had some meals there and it's not five star dining, but it was okay. It's slightly above average. Mom is doing physical therapy. The staff are doing a good job so far as they call to keep us updated with my mom. Mom seems to be pretty comfortable, and she also feels safe there. She knows she's in a place that she is not going to fall and that gives her peace of mind. I would recommend this nursing home.
