We toured Trail Creek Place. The people were very friendly. It was obvious that the staff were kind of a family and they got along very well. The building was just older, but it had a good feel. It felt homey and comforting, not like sterile institutions. I saw that the residents were happy. We saw an air hockey table and darts there. We looked at the menu. They also have a food committee that meets and does an open forum that the residents can come to. They discuss the food they like and the food they don't like. They had slightly larger rooms, and they were designed a little more efficiently compared to the other ones we visited. The staff was terrific. They introduced us to the maintenance people, the hairdressers, and the cleaners.

Trail Creek Place was very nice. They allow you to bring your animals. When you walk in, it did not smell anything, even though they had animals in there. It was very clean, which was a plus for me. Dawn followed up with me many times after the tour. There was another lady there and they were both very nice and friendly. All meals were included and then you can smoke out in the courtyard. It's like an open-door policy. There's no curfew and they can have their own vehicle. It was a really good fit, because they give your medications for an extra fee and maid services are included in the rental fee. There were studio apartments and they were very good. The eating area was full when we visited and they all looked happy.

We went to look at Trail Creek Place. The room they showed for us was just too small for a couple. I thought for a single person (for myself), it would be just perfect. But for both my husband and I, I just didn't think that the room was large enough for the two of us. The facility was nice and clean. The staff was very nice. She really went out of the way to get information for us, as far as the cost and everything. She was trying to get us some money to help us with the cost of the unit. I did see a calendar that had activities. They have bingo, games, arts and crafts that they could do. I saw that they would bring in entertainment for the patients to keep them busy and stuff.

My mom moved into Trail Creek Place a month ago. We chose this one because they offered an urgent placement, which is what we needed at the time. They had a room available and we met the criteria for their urgent placement protocol. Everyone was wonderful, they took the time to answer questions. I had to call and review prescriptions or check in on my mom, her phone wasn't working, and they've just been wonderful. The staff was very helpful. They were very genuine. They didn't give us the runaround or delay the process at all. They were very upfront with things. The food portions are small and probably not the best food, but not inedible or anything like that. The rooms were small, but they're very clean, and there's a lot of different rooms that my mom can go visit for activities and things like that. There's the dining room and there's a game room. There's like a little TV room on her floor that she can go to. She said there was like a room for crafting, so she can take her knitting and go down there and knit, and there are some nice windows that face the garden.

The staff at Trail Creek Place was very knowledgeable. She had additional ideas for me, too. She was very good. It's one level and it's set up in a square. You can just walk around the whole area and it's very easy. You wouldn't get lost walking around the place or moving from place to place. They had exercise equipment, and the barber shop was there. The barber/hairdresser has recently retired, so they were looking for a new one. The garden was very nice. It was inside the square and there's a lot of outdoor seats. You could easily go out onto the patio, and it had tables and chairs set out there, and that's where we were conversing.

I really love Trail Creek Place. I've got the largest room here. I've got a small kitchenette, small living room, small bedroom, a walk-in closet, and a full bathroom. However, I'm not crazy about the food. It's not very healthy, there's no nutrition, and everything is breaded. We've got an activity director, there's an exercise class, we bake cookies, and twice a week the residents play Bingo. They check on me twice at night. I feel safe here.

It was fine, and the rooms were fine. The dining area was good, and the staff was friendly. The price was comparable to everybody else and was average.

We are in the process of having my mom in here. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, caring, compassionate, and kind. The rooms are very clean, well-kept, and fresh. The dining room has an easy access. They offer activities like exercises, outings or field trips, games, movie time, and music. They have gardening outside, sitting areas, and nature walk. They have current events and things to help with their cognitive skills to keep them up-to-date. The security seems very well; like in the main entrance, you have to be buzzed in because it is locked.
