Clarendale of Schererville was nice. I just didn't care for the layout of the building, it was pretty big. The units themselves were small. They have activities and a program to help those residents in the memory care area. The lady who toured me around was very nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. They have an outside court, too.

I went to Clarendale of Schererville and it's very nice. I didn't like it because they got one wing just for memory care and it seemed like a patient could get out. They said it's a locked down facility a hundred percent, but the door was open. It seemed like it wasn't secured. Also, the front desk person just walked away for twenty minutes or something. It just seemed too commercialized and too big of a size. It's run more like a business to make more money than more of a patient care, that's just for myself, but the staff is nice. The facility is nice too, clean, and new. They just need to have more security at the front door. If I could walk out the front door as I was lead out the memory care, everybody else can walk out. It wasn't as secure as I thought it would be.

My mother moved into Clarendale of Schererville. I'm pleased with it, but she's not, and she wants to come home. The one thing I really don't like is that there's no visitation on Sunday, and I would think there would be a family day so that people could visit on a Sunday. We're only allowed in one room, the visitation room, and we're not allowed in her room. She has a studio. I know she has been to bingo, a priest comes, and she has seen a priest a couple of times.
