We toured Christina Place. We're on the waiting list. The tour was very nice and Steven was very helpful. The facility was very nice. It's one that I would consider for my mother. It had a more homey feeling than an assisted living facility. The staff seemed friendly, but I only talked to a couple of them. From what I saw, it was clean, but I wasn't in everybody's rooms. I was just in showrooms, the kitchen area, the group areas, and all that good fun stuff. They had a salon, other activities, a laundry area, a rehab area, and a gym area.

I think Christina Place would be fine for someone to live at. It was very nice and clean. People were nice. I did not see any rooms, and there wasn't anybody available at that time when I was there. I basically just toured the outside, and I saw where they eat. I also saw the front area, where they can sit and gather together (if they want to). I talked to the receptionist that answers the phone, so that's basically what I did. They're very nice and friendly.

We toured Christina Place. It felt like a nursing home. My mom is still very active and the people there were maybe at a point where they were on the downturn. I don't mean this in a negative way because it's not their fault, it's part of getting old, but to me, it felt old. Everyone was sitting around. There were some people, and their heads were over on their sides. It didn't feel like an active community. It's not the environment that we wanted to put Mom in at this time. It's a nice place, and the staff seems wonderful. The rooms seem semi-private. But it had the smell and the feel of a nursing home. They had a small workout room, and they had a public computer that you could get on the internet. They had daily activities set up in a calendar with different events. One day they traveled to a place. A couple of times a week, they could get out. It wasn't a horrible facility, it just had that nursing home vibe. We went in there during dinner time and people were in the dining room, it didn't feel like restaurant-style dining. It felt like a cafeteria. It didn't have a real restaurant vibe to it. I'm sure it's fine, we just didn't want the nursing home vibe.

My mom is doing well at Christina Place. She's improving, and she likes it there. She has been staying there for three weeks now. The biggest deal there is that I feel that she's secure and she's safe. That's the biggest thing. The level of care there is really good. It's clean, and she feels safe there. It’s excellent. Any time I have a question, I can go up and talk to the staff at the front offices. They're there Monday through Friday, and you can walk in and talk to them. And then the staff come in and check on her and make sure she gets down for all of her meals and everything else. Any time she needs help, they’re there within five minutes. They’re always available. I haven’t tried the food there, but my mom has, and she likes it. The good thing about it is they have variety. Each meal they have three different choices that you can have and they always have like hamburgers and hotdogs, and they'll have two different entrees. It's an older place, but it's kept up well. They're all pretty much the same in terms of value for money, but this one is a little less than some of the other ones, but the same level of care.

Christina Place has been excellent. They have taken care of my parents and loved them. They even call them mom and dad. They help each other out and have been very good to us. It's just right now, the owner is raising its prices, and they just can't afford to stay there anymore. It's very homey and all the staff wants to be working there, and that's the way it appears. They have just gone over and above to love their residents. I had to go a year without even seeing my parents, and it broke my heart, but once I finally got in there, I was able to see how much they were getting from the people that work there and it was a beautiful thing. When you walk in, you see a big fireplace and a big family room. Then on to your left is the big dining room that they keep nice and decorated. It feels comfortable. Their food is fine, but not as good as it was when they first got there. Every time I talk to them on the phone, my mom always says that they feel glad and blessed to be there, that they take such good care of them, and that they just love it there and feel so content. Now to hear someone that old say they're content, it's worth a million. The place is very attractive and well-kept, but they lost their housekeeper right before COVID and it seemed like things were not as good as it was. However, as long as they love my parents, that means a lot to me.

The residents and the people that worked at Christina Place were informative and friendly. I only looked at a studio and felt like it was pretty small. We didn't get to see anything else, but they have a courtyard, patio, and activities. The areas where they eat and do activities seemed to be pretty small to me too.

My mom is at Christina Place. The staff is great. The food is terrible but the facility is excellent. Her room is very nice and large. It's laid out like a hotel with rooms all over the place. I like most the end room, with two windows and sun coming in. The living atmosphere is good. They have something going on all the time: ice cream socials, wine and cheese, bingo, and card games. From Monday to Friday, they have something going on several times a day and weekends is very lacking. Weekend is a ghost town. The dining area is outstanding. They have one cook that's very good and then the other cooks are not, that's from listening to my mother. They have physical therapy, exercise room, laundry room, sauna, and closed-in courtyards if you have a dog as they allow pets. They need to improve on the quality of the food. I did complain about no fruit, and since then they have fresh fruits every day, but it took me to complain. The facilities are clean and there's no odor. They're not getting them a Christmas Tree.

I really liked my tour at Christina Place. I thought it was nice. I thought their rooms were also very, very nice, and I liked the set up. The rooms we looked at were one-bedroom apartments. They actually had doors separating the two rooms so one person could be in one room and the other person in another room so there's privacy if you want. The staff was very nice and very friendly. Everybody seemed pretty happy and I think it was good.

My friend moved into Christina Place, and I've been very happy with them. It's clean, the staff is prompt about everything, the food is good, and it seems like she's getting good care. Her room is very adequate, perfect for what she needs, and we furnished it. It's very homey.

The rooms are nice. There is very poor management although the rest of the staff is nice and caring. There is never enough help. Memory care residents are together with othrr residents so it appears more of a nursing home rather than an assisted living facility. The food is another issue, they often run out of basics like bread, jelly, eggs and buns. They do not serve a well balanced menu and the portions are skimpy. On the plus side they do have a good maintenance person. I cannot recommend this facility as the residents do not get the help they a at e paying for.

My sister was at Christina Place. There were lots of things that I didn't like there. Their Alzheimer's patients that were really with it were all together; that's not good. Those people need to have a place where they can be taken care of. They had people sitting in the lobby. They were asleep and their mouths were open; they were watching TV and they looked asleep. It was not nice. When you walk in, it doesn't give you a good impression. The staff was great, but the food was terrible. The place was very nice and clean. They didn't have a pool. They had some entertainment, but I'm not sure what that entails. My sister had a very nice apartment. It was spacious; she had a lot of room. The dining room was crowded, but it was nice. The lighting was OK.

My father moved into Christina Place, and it's fine so far. They are very nice and good at communicating with me, which I am very pleased with. I ate with him, and the food is pretty typical.

Christina House had a good atmosphere. The staff was excellent, helpful, and accommodating. I looked at a studio apartment that was smaller but clean and well-maintained. It was really bright and upbeat.

A lady from our church lives in Christina Place. It is a pretty nice, comfortable place. It is not as fancy, and the dining rooms have only 20 or 30 seats. The rooms may be not quite as fancy, but my dad does not care about that. Nothing about it turns me off. This lady and her family seem to get along. They have been pretty happy with it. It looks nice to me.

I was really not impressed at all. They have several room choices of different sizes. Some of them were very spacious while others were not. The facility itself was very run down. The part around the door handles was dirty. The office where we were in was dirty. Everything sort of needed a paintbrush somewhere. The staff was very nice. There was a sing-a-long that time, and people were having a very good time. They seem to have a lot of activities going on which would be good, but it was just mediocre. Because they were sort of close to my area, they were trying to find new and different ways for folks to do. They are certainly are trying to offer more.
