Dad moved to Hamilton Place. It is a good place. They've been very patient and helpful, and I think I made the right choice going with them. The staff has been excellent, caring, and supportive. Dad's room is a good size, a tiny bit dated, but overall it was a good fit for him. The facility is nice and clean and smelled good. I am very happy with it. There are lots of activities going on. They take people on excursions and shopping every week. They also have bingo, games, puzzles, and different exercise classes. The dining area is restaurant-style dining. The whole place is very family oriented.

Hamilton Place would have been our second place. It was much smaller community. I think they only had like 40-some apartments. There were a few people out in the common living room area. One was watching television, the other was getting some type of therapy there, and we saw one gentleman walking around. But those were the only ones that we saw out. It was a much smaller community, and their level of care was much more expensive than the other place. The grounds were OK. It wasn't quite as well-kept as the other facility. The staff who assisted me during the tour was pleasant. She was kind of pushy, but pleasant. The rooms we saw were all studios, and so they were much smaller. The refrigerators were more like the size of a refrigerator at a hotel room, so it's like you couldn't put like a pitcher of iced tea or anything like that. They were really like the hotel size. They didn't have a lot going on and it was due to the number of residents that they had with it being a much smaller community. It just didn't seem like there was a lot of activity. It seemed like a lot of people were just in their rooms instead of being an interactive community.

The people at Hamilton Place were very friendly. It was very clean, it was a very open environment, seems very spacious and interactive. It was just a very positive place, we liked it. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. She was really good about getting back to me with any questions that I had. She always came back with an answer. I couldn't say enough nice things about her, she was wonderful and her name was Belinda. The rooms were nice, they were clean and they met the needs that we would have. They showed us all kinds of rooms, and they also have larger rooms. The dining area looks very clean and the menu looked appetizing. We didn't have food there, but she offered us coffee and their coffee was very good. When we were there, we saw them playing cards, I saw a lot of different arts and crafts that people had done, and they were they had decorated their entryway for their rooms. That was something else that was sweet. So you could walk by people's rooms and see a bit of their personality outside of their door, or the little entryway of the room. They are decorated with the things that they had made in their activities classes, so that was pretty neat. That was one of our first choices because we liked that place.

Hamilton Place was well organized and pleasant. The people were nice. The staff showed me a studio and it was very roomy, but they had a variety. When I was there, they were getting ready to throw a bridal shower for one of the employees, so everybody kind of got to have the party there. It was really neat how they included everybody. It was family-like. They had a beauty salon and a garden area.

I've been to Hamilton Place twice to visit the place, and mom has been there once, so she has seen it, too. We are looking into moving her there by the end of May, and the reason why we chose it was she really liked it. The cost was well within the budget, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. They're fantastic. The residents were really friendly, as well. I like the size of the place. She's going to stay in a one-bedroom with the size that she likes, and she was very happy with it. They had just about everything that all the other facilities did, so it wasn't that much of a difference -- like they would play games and make sure that everybody was eating well and receiving their medications. They also offered some food to us, and it was good. I think from what I've seen, it will be a very good place for her.

This has to be a good place to go for assisted living. They have put up with my father for awhile now. If they can do that, they are angels in my book! He isn't the easiest to get along with at 93. I would recommend this place for anyone looking. They are very caring people working there. Very nice and welcoming.

Hamilton Place was a pleasant place. When we came in there, there was a family member of a resident leaving who spoke very highly of the place; that’s why we toured it. The rooms were nice, individual one-bedroom or studio apartments. It was a smaller, very welcoming, and inviting place. We just kind of popped in, but the girl that ended up showing us around wasn’t really welcoming. The only reason that we kept going was because of the lady we met when we were going in; she said that she really liked it. We had to ring a doorbell to get in and waited more than five minutes. The lady that talked to us, the family member, was the one who finally let us in. They need to address staff friendliness and being aware of the people.

The facilities are very nice. They have tablecloths on the tables, which is very nice. My husband's been there since last September. The staff is very nice. They've been very accommodating.
