Elkhart Place is a nice and clean place. The staff is very friendly. When you come to the door to get in, you have to ring a buzzer, wear a mask, and you have to be checked in. There's not someone always available right away, though. I think they have a multitasking job. I've seen the person that works in the kitchen once who comes and opens up the front door.
Their activities are very cool. My mom likes to play bingo. She doesn't see very well, but the activities director always has someone sitting next to her and helps her. She always gets a gift even if she thinks she never really won, and she's really thrilled with that. The activities director is tremendous. She really gets in with the older people. The yard work just needs to get done.

Elkhart Place is a very clean place. All the staff is very helpful, and we've had a good experience so far. My mother gets three meals a day and they distribute her medication. The dining area is very clean. They keep the residents spaced apart and they have assigned seating, so she knows where she's going to eat every day. It's very nice. There's a lot of activities such as balloon volleyball, noodle ball, and some other physical activities. My mother seems to enjoy it.

My mother-in-law is doing very well at Elkhart Place. She seems quite happy and she's been participating in activities. She adjusted well, and that's the most important thing to me. The staff has been very responsive. They check on her and they've come fairly quickly when she needs them. She's also happy with the food.
Her room is adequate. She keeps saying that it's like a little apartment and she feels like she has enough room. Every afternoon, they offer some kind of activity. This week, they had bingo one afternoon, played volleyball with a balloon, and did a painting activity. She appreciates being able to participate if she wants to, and not if she doesn't feel like it. I've often visited retirement places to see other people, and they always seemed to have a certain kind of smell, but not at Elkhart Place. It always seems fresh and clean with a very pleasant environment. I think it's a good value for that facility.

My mom has moved into Elkhart Place Assisted Living. Everything is great there. It's clean, they are friendly, and it's a beautiful setting. It's very nice and we're very happy with this. Everybody's wonderful. They do exercises; they go out and they sit on the patio. The food is getting better. We were just impressed with the size of it, and all being on one floor and the cleanliness.

I put Dad in Elkhart Place. I took a tour before I put him in there. It's small, and I loved it. They showed me a room and everything. I would recommend it because they are great people. He was quarantined for two weeks, so there were no visitors, but they did the protocol with the gowns and the masks and all that stuff when they went to help, and they have done just great. He is ninety-four years old and doesn't like anything, but the food is good. He gets fried chicken, and they get a big dinner at lunchtime. They have lighter stuff at night. You can have pancakes in the morning, and you can have bacon and eggs. I thought the food was decent.
The staff is very warm, friendly, and super caring. They don't complain at all if daddy has an accident or whatever. They just get him and help him, and they're nice to him, and that's great. The place is nice and clean. They have activities, though with COVID right now on a rampage, everyone is kind of on a lockdown. The only people who can go in and do anything are the hospice people and the nurses. They normally have activities for the residents. For a self-pay place, I think it's very reasonable. I would recommend it to anybody who needed a place that was homier and had better care. You have more care because it's small. It's only like a thirty-nine-bed place, so I'm very happy.

My mother is in Elkhart Place. They're good people. It's a caring community. It's small. One of the nicest things about them is they only have 29 residents and so it has got a smaller feel to it. It's also one floor. That's nice. My mother has dementia, so the fact that it's smaller is good. There's a corporation that owns them, but they don't accept the Medicaid waiver. That's really the only reason why I'm looking elsewhere, because I'm basically paying them $3,000 a month. With that being said, I can do the Medicaid waiver and it fits right into her Social Security and she'll have money left over. It kinda works better. However, they're great people. They do a good job. They care. It has a kinda smaller feel to it; everybody knows each other. It's a very good place. It's very clean and very nice. They have a lot of activities for the people. It's just nice because everybody has a relationship. Even the staff has wonderful relationships with the people. There are a lot of activities. They do different things. This is pre-COVID. They would bring bands in, it was music from the 1950s and 1940s, but they were live bands and they brought them in. They have activities with exercise. They have volleyball where they blow up a balloon and they are out in the activity area and they hit it all over the place. Just lots of fun things like that. They have a game room with puzzles and games. There's bible studies and there's some book clubs. It's got a lot of things going on like that. It's a good place.

My siblings moved into Elkhart Place. It's very satisfactory, the workers are very nice, they're getting excellent care; they like it a lot. It's very clean, very nice, the people are all friendly, and all the residents seem very happy. The price is excellent, it was one of the least expensive places I've found that was really nice. They have exercise classes, and special events where people come in and entertain them. They have a family night once a month where family members can go have dinner in the evening with everybody, and they have entertainment that comes in. They offer bingo, and other games, and they have a beautiful center garden where the people can go out and enjoy the garden. They can even plant some things if they want to. They keep them entertained, and they have a list of schedules every day starting at 9:00 a.m. that last until after the dinner hour. The residents get three meals a day plus snacks. The staff care is excellent, all of the nurses and all of the helpers are exceedingly friendly, nice, and they make sure they visit the residents throughout the day and take care of any problems they might have. They clean the rooms once a week, give them showers twice a week, and do laundry for them once a week. I'm very happy.

Elkhart was very nice, the staff member that showed me around was very nice, and everybody was helpful. However, the room was all-in-one, the bedroom and everything was there also. Otherwise, it was very good. The staff was very caring and very knowledgeable.

It is a small facility, and it looks like they would have very individualized care, but it's not the type of care that my husband was looking for. The rooms are more of a studio type apartment.

It is a little smaller with few residents and activities. Dad would be really bored there. The apartments and staff were really nice and conducting stretching exercises while I was there.

I live near here, and we were very impressed with it. My dad is very happy. They have one bedroom and studio apartments with handicapped bathrooms and a little kitchenette. The food was very good. They have an activities director. In the morning they have exercise, and in the afternoon they have games. They have church that comes on Sunday afternoon and have service. They have different people come in and interact with them to play piano, they have Boy Scout fairs and family nights.

It was an assisted living facility that had rehab and nursing care. I had friends who were staying there and they spoke highly of it. It was a new facility. I had seen one of their rooms and it seemed very cheerful, pleasant, colorful, warm and inviting.
