The room sizes at Brentwood at Elkhart Independent Living were very good. They have a lot of activities. The staff is friendly, and everything looks to be in good order. They have courtyards, patios, and a gazebo, which was nice. They also allow pets. The staff that took me on the tour was very friendly and very informative. She gave me the information before I was asking for it. She was very good. The room has a refrigerator and a microwave.

Brentwood at Elkhart Independent Living wasn't quite as expensive and everyone was very nice. They gave us a sheet with all kinds of activities that they do, like exercises, bingo, puzzles, Bible study, and church services. You can have three meals a day and they have a bus to take you to the grocery store. They offer a whole bunch of stuff. We had lunch there and the food was very good, too.

I didn’t know that my mother could still be independent and be soooo very happy!!’ What a difference this has made in her life!! And she still gets the help she needs….. It’s wonderful to not worry about her being alone or sad!! It’s a wonderful and perfect place for mom!!

Brentwood at Elkhart Independent Living was excellent. We went and interviewed with them. Dad liked it and he said he would move there. It was very open and clean and the part he liked is they have a lot of activities. They have a van that will take them places. He likes the fact that they'll drive him around and they go to Mr. G's which is a restaurant once a week and that's where he eats, so now he can go with a group and they go there and eat, then they put in a sports room downstairs that has a big screen TV and they watch all sports and stuff, so it gives him people to talk to his age.
The staff during the tour was very polite, very nice, didn't push it on us, and let us choose. I didn't think my dad would go. My dad is not a person that would go, but he loved it. He told me he liked it, so I didn't even have to force him. They made him an apple pie, and I think that helped, too. They have three meals a day they provide and they have a nice kitchen area. They have a sports bar, activities, games they play, and they have a euchre table set out front that people play. We didn't eat there, but they offered us a free lunch. The dining area looked clean and nice. There was a wide variety. My dad can make his meals. It's just nice that he would have a place to go eat if he wants to.
Their rooms have their refrigerator, microwave, and stove, but if he wants to, he can eat with them, too, and that's all included in the price. That's kind of nice where he can choose. If he wants to be by himself, he can be by himself. If he wants to eat with somebody, he can. I think he likes that where he doesn't have to eat with people. They have a garden you can grow, but he doesn't care about that. They have a patio and my dad smokes, so they said that he can go out there and smoke on the patio. They have a big old patio in the middle of the place and then you can obviously go outside and smoke outside, but they have a patio outside and it's close to the room he'll be getting.

I toured Brentwood at Elkhart Independent Living. I like the appearance, and it was very clean, I like that. A lot of times they aren't very clean, and that was my first impression, how clean it was. It also looks comfortable. We were impressed with it. The person who showed me around was very knowledgeable and very personable. They have a courtyard, a dog park, an exercise room, and a library.

The appearance of Brentwood at Elkhart is very fine. It's smaller than a lot of other senior places, but it's large enough to be a good home. We have already visited around 3-4 times. The person who helped me out during my visit was very fine and helpful. We had a meal there and the food was also very fine. I saw some of the residents playing bingo, they also have an exercise room that's small but looked adequate.

Brentwood was the one I liked best of the three places I went to. They have some small residences, and 2-bedroom residences that are different from the others. They showed me the dining area, some areas where they have parties, and they described the activities they offer, and their transportation. The staff member took me around, showed me the facilities, followed up with some phone calls, and invited me to their functions. I think they're excellent. The food looked good and was well presented.

Brentwood at Elkhart is an awesome place. They have studios and 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. Their activities seem to be in line, and their activities schedule was full, so the people have something to do. They're in close proximity to grocery stores and other convenient places that people might need to go for prescriptions or groceries. The studio was small, but the rooms were spacious. Kelly -- the person who gave us the tour -- was awesome and fantastic.

Brentwood at Elkhart was a really nice huge place with a lot of residents, but it has two levels, so Dad would probably get lost wandering off. They have a lot of activities, a movie room, library and go to a lot of places. You can also have pets in there. There is a pond and some trees, so you can enjoy the outdoors more.
