Poor excuse for nurses

My mother laid in her bed with pneumonia for 2 weeks untreated before I had to threaten to go to the director of nursing unless something was done, finally they ordered an x-ray but not until I threatened again. Now she is in ICU at the hospital and the doctor said the she most likely will not pull through.

My mother has been doing very well at Woodcrest Nursing Center. Her room is a double occupancy, but at the moment she does not have a roommate. They are not large, but adequate for her needs and very comfortable for her. She likes the food there. She goes to their cafe and can order off of a menu. If they have something she doesn't like, she can order something else instead. We have been very pleased with the care she's getting. If there's ever any problem as far as a skin break or anything, they are always quick to call me and let me know. She's getting excellent care. She gets her nails done on Thursdays, has bingo on Wednesdays, popcorn and movie times, bus trips out to eat, bible studies and church services there, and games in the evening that the residents can participate in. They have a lot of activities for them to do. They're going to be doing some remodeling. It was built in 1994, so it's in need of some renovations, and they will be starting in late August or early September. If they get those some improvements made, it will enhance the facility.

My mother is in Woodcrest, and the ones that took care of her were very kind. The food was clean, and her room was always clean. My mother and her roommate were happy. I would recommend it. The activities were wonderful; they did everything from church services to crafts, to mother’s day teas and thanksgiving deserts. They brought kids in from the school, and they even had my mom reading books to little kids and having the little kids read books back to my mother.

My grandfather was a resident at Woodcrest for nearly two years. During that time he experienced diabetic complications and had both legs amputated. After each operation he returned to undergo rehabilitation at the facility. He loved the staff and made friends with other residents. I always found the facility to be clean and cheerful. Several times I volunteered to work bingo games during afternoon activity period. The social director was very dedicated and I believe worked very hard to provide interesting activities. Overall, I believe my grandfather received excellent care and medical treatment. When he was in his last days, the staff was very understanding of our feelings and allowed us leeway in visitations.
