The worst care a person can get. I'm temporarily here getting physical therapy. The neglect is inexcusable. I continue purchasing my own Ensure products, being on a clear liquid diet yet they continue claiming they've run out and that is my only source of a meal. So I've spent talot of money providing my own so that I am not forced to skip 1-2 meals every day I've been here. I'm off all my regular medications, having been here 11 days I have yet to have a doctor visit. I had a 30 second introduction. Off my medication, denied regular meals, denied medication in general, I'm hopefully going to a real care & Rehabilitation facility this week. IMy family has reported them along with other families & residents. THIS IS NO PLACE TO RECEIVE CARE at any level..

My mother is currently in rehab and skilled nursing at this facility. The staff and nurses are dedicated and caring. They are more than willing to help and answer questions my family might have. The physical therapist are equally motivated to get my mom up and moving!!

WARNING: This place should be shut down! If you have a family member that isn’t able to verbally relate concerns to you then please go elsewhere! The most horrible lazy staff (except for a few) they let residents sit in their own waste for hours, and then put the same clothes on them after they change them so they still smell. They go days before they wash their wheel chairs, so many sad situations there. Our mother has Alzheimer’s and was given horrible care. Even after several complaints, grievances And meetings. The communication there is horrible between the bosses and staff. We and others would sit for well over an hour with the nurse light on in the rooms. Our mothers clothes and blankets were always missing. We would come in and find our mother in clothes she was in the day before, dirty and soiled. We constantly complained. We would have to be there at bedtime or they would leave her up and soiled till late. Others experienced the same issues. We complained for some woman that were there that didn’t have many family visits. It was just a sad horrible situation. They kept telling us we are working on it and it will get better. Some things would improve for a couple days then go back to the way it was. This place should honestly be shut down and investigated for elder neglect. We finally found a place that took medicade and had great reviews. Our mother is doing so so much better. She is clean all the time, the facility doesn’t stink at all like this place always did, it’s also spotless, my mom is actually doing much much better. Valpo told us this is the level your mom is at, accept it. We knew better and we were right. She finally has the care and dignity she needs. Her quality of life is 100% better. This place is just full of excuses. They wanted to up her meds to make there job easier. The new place said there’s no reason to up them and that my mother is a living caring person. PLEASE DONT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS PLACE.

My 90 year old mother, who suffers from dementia, was there for therapy after she broke her hip at home. The staff was absolutely wonderful! They treated my mom, my sisters, and me like family!

My mom was at this facility for a little over a month last year, and it was a daily struggle to make sure her needs were being met. We visited her everyday, and at times she was found by herself in the dining room (she needed assistance with eating), dirty from trying to feed herself, and so wet (she was incontinent) that a puddle of urine had formed under her wheelchair..... I do not recommend this facility to anyone! I had to request that my mom be sent to the hospital because of how dehydrated she was. She deserved better care that what she received here, and so does anyone else's loved one.

Valparaiso Care and Rehab is OK, but my room is crowded. They changed administrators. The dining room is nice. The food -- some good and some is bad. The activities are very good.
