Monroe Place was nice and well-lit, and they have a nice communal area with fireplaces, and a lot of the residents were hanging out in the communal areas when I went through. The staff was nice. The rooms were clean. They had large bathrooms. The windows were positioned well, so the rooms were well-lit. One of the staff there was leading some kind of trivia game with a bunch of people and a lot of people were outside the courtyard area. I didn't go there at mealtime, but it's a nice open dining area, and the staff was walking around to see if anyone needed assistance. They just seemed very well-staffed.

I'm going to move into Monroe Place. The facility has a lot of light, it's bright and cheerful. It's very clean and the apartments have quite a bit of space in them. There hasn't been a lot of turnover in the staff. I haven't tried the food yet, but I saw the menu and it has the food that I like. They have quite a few activities. They have a van, but I have my own car, so I was planning on doing a lot of things on my own.

My mom will be moving into Monroe Place assisted living. I like the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility. It's spacious, very well-maintained and the apartments are comfortable. They have raised gardens for the residents, they do activities outside like bocce ball, cornhole, and things like that. So they get the residents very engaged.

We cared most about the apartment aspect of Monroe Place, how big the living space was. They just had a awesome one-bedroom set up and it's right down the street from our house, so location-wise, it's awesome. It was very nice. All of the living spaces and common areas were very nice. It's like a very new building. There's a lot of modern amenities and big bathrooms. We're thinking about sending my grandmother there. We love it. The staff during the tour was great. We worked with Megan specifically. She was great at communicating the entire time, and she answered all of our questions. That was the first place visited, so we had a lot of questions by the time we got there and she's just incredible. They have a courtyard, and they're pet-friendly.

The Community Relations Manager at Monroe Place was SO helpful in facilitating my friend's move to assisted living. She has continued to be a major resource to me with the ongoing challenges of my friend's care. The rest of the staff (nurses, and others) are, without exception, wonderful. Everyone takes a personal interest in my friend and her conditions. They are very pro-active about problems and communicate with me in useful and timely ways. The sincere, personalized care and concern are, for me, the most important Things. Additionally, I like the low-key physical atmosphere. Monroe Place is homey and comfortable, and not pretentions or "fancy". My friend is encouraged, daily, to participate with the community activities and meal times. And, the food is very good! Most importantly, I feel confident that my friend is in a safe and caring environment. It has been such a relief to me and my friend's husband. We can finally breathe and relax a little.

My mother lived at Monroe Place for over 3 years. To say they have been a blessing to us is an understatement. From the very beginning the staff was warm, courteous, attentive, and above all, truly loving to my mother. As her health declined due to a terminal diagnosis, they continued to communicate with us daily about how she was doing, provided total care at the end of her life and couldn't have done a better job. We still keep in touch with some of the staff and really felt like this was mother's home, and so did she. We are forever grateful.

Monroe Place is a beautiful facility with very spacious apartments. There is a handful of staff that are very caring, helpful, and attentive to the residents. However, the manager, Curtis is completely worthless. He acts clueless most of the time and always displays a flat affect. He comes across as if he is dispassionate. He does not communicate well with family members/residents and is unprofessional. Our family is having to call constantly because medications have been missed or given incorrectly, scheduled baths have been missed numerous times, having to remind them to wash the laundry and clean the apartment, which by the way is all paid for in advance. Laundry and kitchen items have gone missing. I believe if management at Monroe Place was more professional, possessed integrity, was emotionally intelligent, exhibited some organizational skills, and demonstrated some fortitude, Monroe Place would be a great place to live.

Monroe Place was too far away. The staff was very helpful during my visit, and it seemed like a very caring community. There were dead flowers in a vase of bad water where we walked in, and that made a bad impression.

We went to Monroe Place. It’s really nice. I like the way they get together and talk. The room was really nice, and they had a really nice place outside in the back. You could go out several doors, and there weren’t any steps or anything to go out to. I really like it, but my husband just didn’t want to live away from here. I didn’t eat there, but I thought the dining room was very nice. They had like bingo and different crafts stuff, and they had the things for you to exercise on.

We found Monroe Place for mom right away. Mom absolutely loves the staff; she can’t be happier with them, especially the maintenance guy, John. Her room was absolutely gorgeous, and she got the model room. It’s got two big windows overlooking the courtyard with the big, beautiful tree, grass, and flowers. The food was fabulous before, but a month after it’s no longer as good.

The food was not good at Monroe Place. It tasted canned, greasy, and of poor quality. It seemed very processed. The place is not clean, so it was not right for Mom. The rooms were OK, but I think the place is kind of run down. The staff was cordial during our tour. They have a calendar of events as well.

My mom just moved into Monroe Place about 3 months ago. She had a lot going on medically. We thought it was the end of the road for her. Since then they have placed her in therapy to help get her adjusted. Their activities director has taken her out into their community and now she is participating in activities. At first I could see my mom living there for quite some time then she fell. The hospital told us that she had to go to a nursing home. Monroe Place management promised us that she would be able to come back to her home. Her care level has gone up some and it has increased her bill. They are still bringing her down to activities everyday. I was impressed. Now that she can longer do the things that she used to do independently, my mom needs almost total care. She met a friend at Monroe Place and in order to keep her with her friend we agreed that it would be easier financially for my mother to share a room with someone. I didn't like this idea at first but now she can stay there with her friends and not have to go to the nursing home. They have really bent over backwards for my mother and my family.

I was here. When I first went there, I thought it was nice. I had a nice big apartment and I like it. I had a nice living room, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a lot of space in my closet. However, overall, the feedback for this facility is mostly all negative except for the help. The help was very good, but the management was horrible. At the time that I was there, the main woman who took care of the facility was not very friendly. Also food was terrible.
