Kesslerwood Place was beautiful. The rooms were nice and large. They said that the food was excellent. It was very close to us, but the cost was high. The room had a refrigerator and a sink. They have a huge round porch that's covered. The staff was very nice, bubbly, and extremely caring. The nurses that I met were very nice. They had a clinic there. The facility was very clean, easily accessed, and had a lot of parking. I was very impressed with the place and the people that were there.

We were at Kesslerwood Place yesterday. We toured the assisted living. I really like it. It's around the corner from me. It is an older building. It's been there for a while. It has changed management three times since I've lived over here. Everyone that I have met there was very nice and very knowledgeable. Their head nurse has over 27 years of experience. The residents seemed to be very active. Actually when we got there, their activities director had them out on the porch, and they were singing songs. She seemed to have a great rapport with the residents that I saw her interact with. She was with us on part of the tour, and she was very knowledgeable and super sweet. I would definitely rate that like a five, as far as the staff. We're too late for lunch, but they offered us dessert while we there. We had sherbet and ice cream, which my grandmother was thrilled about. The head chef was very nice and very accommodating. They gave me a copy of their activities calendar, and it appeared to be packed. They do a lot with their residents to keep them engaged. The rooms are OK. They're not very big. If someone has a lot of furniture that they are wanting to hold on to, that's going to be a problem. Their one-bedroom unit is actually kind of set up like a two-bedroom. We weren't really thrilled with the set-up of the rooms, but the community itself probably makes up for that. It felt more like a hotel room and not an apartment. They have an amazing library area. They have a solarium, which is beautiful. They also have gardens in the back, picnic tables, and all that. The community itself is absolutely beautiful, and the common areas are amazing. They have a pianist that comes in three times a week now and plays for about an hour; we happened to be there while she was there. It was amazing. Everyone we met was just super friendly and very knowledgeable. Their turnover is not high as far as the nursing staff goes, which I was pleased to hear about. The marketing director was amazing.

Kesslerwood Place in Indianapolis has accepted my husband. We have not moved in yet but they have all our paperwork. I met with the community relations manager and we had our grand tour of the facility. My husband already has a room assignment, they're just waiting on my surgery date so that I can give them a date when he can move in. He will be there for respite care, anywhere between 2 and 3 weeks. We already saw the room and it's a studio. They offer studios and 1-bedroom apartments there. They offer physical therapy there, which is a contractor that comes in. They have a bus and the activity director takes the residents on outings. If people want to go on their outings, they have an outing 1 to 2 times a week. They have a hair salon and a barbershop. They have formal dining in the dining room. All the residents come to the dining room and they order from the menu. They have a choice, an alternative if they didn't like what was on the main course. They have 3 big meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have activities, they have games like bingo, that type of thing. They have a library where you can use the computer. I haven't tasted any of the food but they do have a chef and the meals are prepared on-site. There are no meals that are brought in and heated up and served to the residents. They serve right there on-site and they go to the formal dining room. There are 3 floors to this building. They have a big wide, open porch that the residents have come out in the evening and sit out on the porch. It's a covered porch, and it curves around the building to the front. When you walk in, the receptionist will buzz you in. The main floor is assisted living, the second floor is memory care. My husband will be staying on the assisted living floor. The facility is gorgeous with beautiful French doors. There's a fireplace in the main lobby area for the patients and the residents can sit and watch the flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. They have popcorn in the evening, snacks while they sit there and watch TV. There's a beautiful winding staircase that goes up, there's an elevator around the corner, and there are adequate restrooms. The director of the nursing's office is up on the second floor. They have laundry once a week, it's included. They take you to the appointments as well. If they know ahead of time they will take you to appointments and will wait for you, but they cannot go in with you to the doctor's office or whatever appointment you're going to. The staff can't accommodate that but they can take you and drop you off and come back and give you a ride.

We visited Kesslerwood Place for my mom and I thought the rooms were small. They have mostly studios, except for very few one-bedrooms, but the studios that we saw were very small. The staff was very knowledgeable, and I think she worked for these places a long time. They had an active group at that time. They were watching a movie and they had a discussion. They might have a small library. It seemed pretty well. The place seemed adequate and newer than the other one we saw, but it was fairly small, with only two or three floors. It is built on a circular floor plan so everything seemed to be convenient.

I was not overly impressed with this facility. It is very clean. The custodian talked to us for few minutes. There were no apartments open to view. This facility is more geared to memory care instead of assisted living. It was not what I am looking for.

The people and the building itself were wonderful. The director and the saleslady whom I was working with were just incredibly nice people. The care that my mom was given was just amazing, and the nurse that came to the house to assess was amazing. Knowing that she was going to be cared for the way that I was caring for her just felt like home. The scenery outside was nice, and they had games. Jovene -- the activity coordinator -- is just the sweetest lady. They go out, do activities, stay in, have memory games and all sorts of stuff, so the activity coordinator is phenomenal.

I have visited and I would say that the staff was very good and was very helpful and accommodating during my tour there. The rooms and apartments were typical and pretty small. I haven't eaten there, but the food looked OK. Their dining room looked fine, too. They do have bingo, movies, and exercise.

It was very nice, and the representative was very sweet. I took a tour because I was looking for respite care. There were several rooms available, and so there was variety. The staff was very nice. I saw other people eating, and they liked it a lot. There’s a wide variety of residents of all ages and abilities.

It wasn't just what my mother was looking for. The rooms weren't quite as spacious. The dining room was fine, but we didn't try the food. They played cards, and they have different programs.

The caregivers toook an extra mile iin helping my mother who just passed awau. I thought they treated the residence with dignity and respect. The resodence was always clean and never had that "smell" to it. I would recommend it to anyone who is in need of assisted living.
