My mother fell over at Park Place of Elmhurst. Her room was OK, but as far as the care that they gave, it was horrible. I hated it from the start. I was not happy there at all. When you walk in there, it's like you're walking into a hotel lobby. They have a couple of chairs to sit on, but you have to walk off into the wings to get to the people's rooms, the dining room, or the activity center. The way it was designed just doesn't flow for an elderly person to be able to navigate their way around. The meals were not so great. One girl couldn't care for my mother because she was too depressed. There was no cleanliness. Nobody knew anybody.

Park Place of Elmhurst was very professional. They were able to give me information immediately via email in regards to pricing and detailed information about the programs. During the tour, they showed us different options for my mother, the dining room, the physical therapy room, the salon, and the library. They also showed us where my father could stay in the memory unit. The staff was very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions that we had. What I really liked was she knew all the residents by name.
