Welcome to The Glenwood Supportive Living of Staunton, Illinois

The Glenwood Assisted & Supportive Living is dedicated to providing customized services to meet the individual needs of our residents. Our unique plans are designed to offer a lifestyle that compliments a resident's independence with the quality of personal care each individual deserves. Our team recognizes that each of our residents have individual needs and preferences. Prior to admission, our administrative and nursing team will spend time with each resident and their family, to conduct an assessment in order to evaluate the need for assistance and support on a personal level.

The Glenwood Supportive Living of Staunton, Illinois opened in 2007. Our community features 62 apartments, including efficiency, 1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms. Each apartment features a kitchenette, living room, bathroom with walk-in shower, bedroom with walk-in closet and private patio; apartment square footage ranges from 500-800 square feet of cozy, living space.

3 delicious, well-balanced, home cooked meals, per day

Quarterly wellness evaluations, conducted by a licensed nurse
Trained, certified and caring staff, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Minimum of 4 wellness checks per day
Local transportation for scheduled physician appointments*

I toured The Glenwood Supportive Living of Staunton. I liked the facility, but it's not geared for Alzheimer's. I liked the atmosphere, and I liked the way the building was set up from the standpoint that it's in a big setting enclosed by the building area. It had a gazebo where people could gather safely in warm weather. It was very nice. I also like the fact that each of the living units had a patio. They could step out onto their patio, which was nice. I thought the rooms were very large and very well pointed. The dining area looked very inviting. The only reason I didn't like it was the doors were not locked, which is OK for assisted living, but it's not appropriate for Alzheimer's. I liked the staff member who gave me the tour. She had risen through the ranks. She had been there for ten years. It felt like this was not just a job for her, this was almost like her home. There's a salon there, and I think that they had a large room with a large TV. I thought the place was neat and clean, and it had a cheery atmosphere.

There was never a time we came in to visit my grandmother that there were not spiderwebs. When she fell and actually needed their help to get around she constantly said that they took very long to respond to her calls. Michelle S would not let us in to clean the room and kept the whole security deposit for a spot in the kitchen. We could not clean because it had already been rented out but they still charged us!

The Glenwood Supportive Living of Staunton was nice, and the people seemed friendly. The only thing missing was a pool. I saw a private room with a microwave. You do your own laundry or somebody could do it for you. It had a little place where you could have coffee. They get together to play games and bingo. The staff was pretty good, from what I've seen.

My mother has been here since April 1, 2016. I'm 5 mi away and know most all that's happening. I could not be more satisfied with Mothers care. The staff and administration are kind, caring and easy to talk with. I would give them an excellent rating in all categories.

You should check under furniture in the apartments. Hasn't been cleaned in years.

This facility is top notch in all respects that I could observe. Very clean, friendly staff, scheduled activities for residents, nursing like assistance, medication supervision, resident freedom to come and go within reason.
