I toured Tinley Court. It is a nice place for other families who have someone in wheelchairs or walkers or are like 80 years old or 90. It was a very nice building. One room had a little kitchenette that had a sink and a shelf with a microwave. By the sink they had a little space where you can put in a dorm refrigerator. They had a beauty salon where a lady comes there every Tuesday, and it was really nice. They had a room where you can go and watch TV, or you can put in movies if you want to watch movies. They had books in there, in the sitting area. In the activity room, they do chair exercises. They also play bingo and everything. They had a patio. You can go out there and sit. It was nice. They also had an elevator because it was two floors. You can get a room with just the shower. It was very modern and the bathrooms and everything were modern. Or you can get the room with the tub and the shower. The lady who showed me around, I think her name was Pammy, was so nice. The atmosphere is just very nice and just relaxing. It is a nice place for people with elderly parents. They would truly like it for their family members.

I went to tour Tinley Court. It was nice. It was clean. The people there were friendly. I talked to some of them and got a little bit of an idea of what they had there as far as activities. I felt at home because I'm used to being in that type of atmosphere. They have a menu for every day, and if you don't want what's on the menu, you can make some kind of sandwich. They have a lot of activities. They said they have a magician that comes once a week, they have like happy hour where everybody kind of congregates and has drinks and socializes. They play bingo. They have an exercise class. They have arts and crafts. They have a fitness center, a library, and a movie theater. They take them to the Dollar Store or Walmart. They take them out for dinner or breakfast. There are a lot of things going on there, and that's why I like it. The staff who assisted us was very nice. I have trouble walking, so she had gotten me a wheelchair. During the tour, she let me use the wheelchair, which is nice. The place seemed clean. What they do is they clean each room as the person that had lived there before moved out and they clean them all the time. When I went in there and observed the rooms that they had, they looked clean to me. They have laundry services, and they also do housekeeping.

The staff at Tinley Court was very, very accommodating, very knowledgeable, very friendly, and warm. They showed us the one-bedroom and studio units they had and they were all very spacious. The one-bedroom was the one that we fell in love with. You can eat off the floor because it was just that clean. They also let us know all the activities that were offered there. Some of the activities were going on as we were touring.

Tinley Court was nice. What I didn't like about it is that they didn't offer places with kitchens in it. I can get used to not having to cook, but if I want to do something for myself, then I can't do it. The person who took me around was very nice. They have a full menu, and they change the menu every week. They keep the place clean. They had one-bedroom apartments. It was nice, but it wasn't for me. There were no kitchen facilities available or anything like that. They had an area out front, and people were sitting there when I came in and took the tour. She said there was another one out there, so you can also sit outside. They have scheduled activities all the time. They always offer something. They have a community room where you can go and play games with other people and stuff like that.

I had a very cordial visit to Tinley Court. Me coming from a house, the rooms are rather small for me. However, I appreciated the courtesy of the lady that was showing them to me. I would recommend it to anybody that would want to kind of scale down to a smaller area. They showed me at least four rooms. They also showed me an activity room, a computer area, the lunchroom, and a library. It was okay. It's very convenient to shopping, too.

Tinley Court seemed like an older hotel room to me. The room I saw, was very small, all you can put in there would be a bed. The staff seemed friendly but the people that I've seen there didn't seem so friendly, they seemed kind of grouchy. The atmosphere seemed okay, they didn't have as many amenities as the other place I visited. They had exercises in the morning, they had a library but it was smaller, and areas for gathering. There was nothing for them in the evenings. At the other community, you had a choice of two different meals for every meal, but here it's strictly one thing, and that was it. At the other one, if you wanted to bring a hot plate in there, you had room to do all that. But in this one, there was no room whatsoever, it was just one small sink, almost like a bathroom sink.

I like that Tinley Court is all on one level. The staff was friendly and receptive. The rooms are a little bit dated. The residents were mostly sitting around but they seemed to be pleased with where they were. The grounds were also dated, but they were kept clean.

I chose Tinley Court for my mother, and she's moving in next month. First of all, they accept small pets, and the person that I worked with was very friendly and answered all questions that I had. The place was very clean, updated. The rooms were a decent size, the closet space was good for her. The only thing was that they did not have a refrigerator or microwave in the room for her, but we can bring one in, so that helps out as well. They gave us a sample menu with items that my mom likes. We just chose it because it was clean, open, and the price was reasonable. This is affordable for us because it's based on my mom's income only. The community fee that we had to provide was reasonable as opposed to all of the others. There was no way she would be able to afford many of the others because of the cost, as well as they provide three meals where some of the others only provided two, so she would be on her own for the other meals. That was a big factor for us because she is partially blind, so we didn't want her to have to fend for herself for other meals as well, and it was all on one floor for her, so I felt that works out well too. Out of all of the facilities I've called, only one of them did have someone that did sign language, but that was, of course, the most costly one. So, unfortunately, we did not send her there. She's going to be moving into the studio in January, but she is on a list to move to an alcove room, which is kind of a one-bedroom. It just doesn't have the door in between, but her bedroom. So it's all going to be a little bit bigger, but she'll be moving into that in a couple of months. They do have a beauty salon and they do have different activities. They do use their mealtimes as their wellbeing check, they do ask that if you leave the facility, just to give them a heads up so that they're not looking for you. They are allowing us to bring in a special kind of doorbell because she can't hear when they knock. So when they knock, there's a light that goes on in the room, so they're allowing us to bring that in. They do have a library with lots of books. They do have a community room where they have games and things, so when my nieces and nephews go to visit, they can go play games and stuff with my mother. They do have laundry facilities on-site, so you can do the laundry yourself where you can pay for the amenities to have laundry done. They do have housekeeping once a week, which is very helpful because some of the others were only biweekly. My only concern is their walkway and their doorway entrance are not completely lighted. So it's very dark, and with my mom's vision being that, it's just not -- they have pathway lights, but there's just not enough lighting when you go in the evening.

We like that Tinley Court's prices are much more reasonable than others. However, the facilities are not as accommodating. They do not have much in the way of second story. Almost all of it is on the first floor, and we had to do a lot of walking, so it was not as pleasant. My wife had to get a wheelchair in order to get into the building because the opening of the door going in is a very long promenade. They have a lot of things that they might say are good, but the people that are there, we don't see them being very interactive, and we saw a fair number of people that were relatively inactive, although they have a range that goes from 55 to 103. The person who gave the tour was personable, but he was young and inexperienced, and really had difficulty determining what we needed. They have three meals a day. They need to be upgraded a little bit. They've been around a long time, a lot of it is very old fashioned and not updated very much.

I went to Tinley Court. I didn't see much staff around the facility. A lot of the amenities that they had were closed. The beauty salon was closed. The physical therapy room was closed and activity rooms. Other than the cafeteria part, there was really nothing else open. I like that they had those options, but they weren't open. It looked clean, and it was a little dark (not the the lighting - the hallways were dark). there was nothing to brighten up the place. No plants around or bright colors; nothing of that nature. The staff was knowledgeable about the place. He wsn't the regular guy that does it. He sounded like a fill-in, but he was able to answer questions. They need to improve the appearance, spruce up the place, and brighten walls. They need to have activities open, and staff around or someone to greet you. There was no one that greeted us. We came in, there was no one at the counter. I don't know if that had to do with the staffing level, but I just thought it was kind of a skeleton crew.

Tinley Court is reasonable, I believe that would be their biggest positive attribute. I guess one of the things that I thought was negative was there were no things and no kitchen space. It's just basically a one-room place with a restroom. I kind of didn't like the fact that there was no place for anybody to prepare any meals or even to put snacks. I thought the staff was excellent. They have a kind of a small activity room, a nice clean dining area and the location is good. I think there was an outdoor area just for sitting but not a lot to it. The exercise area was a little small too. The outdoor space was nice, it just wasn't closed in. It's an independent living place so you'd have to feel confident that if they walk around the area, the person is capable of managing that. I thought the place was very well-maintained.

Morin Family
My 93 year old father was living independently in Wisconsin up until December 2017 when we finally got my dad to understand he could no longer live alone four hours away from the family. We heard from a friend that their mom recently moved to Tinley Court, we set up a tour and loved the place, my dad moved in mid January. It was an adjustment but my dad quickly got to know people, the staff is amazing and made my dad feel very welcomed. We visited my dad daily and when we would head back home we felt at ease that he was in great hands. My dad was wheelchair bound and required some care and there are caregivers on site that work independently and we were introduced to Beauty and she was wonderful, my dad loved her and she took excellent care of him and we will always be so appreciative of all she did. There are activities that go on throughout the day and the residents could join in as much as they like. Rooms were plenty big, food good. But our best experience was with the staff, very caring and kind people. Karen and Cindy (Administration), Daylyn (Activity Director), Ann (Reception Desk), the dining room staff, housekeeping staff were all the best and made my dads last few months of life happy. My dad past away in October and we will be forever grateful for all Tinley Court did for him. Thank You Tinley Court.☺️

Tinley court is fantastic, and I can’t wait to get in there. Everything there is great, the people are wonderful, and I’m moving in soon. She took us around and told us the all things they have, and I have a list of everything they do. They have Bingo, Bunco, and all kinds of stuff.

Mom likes the people at Tinley Court. Her caregiver is excellent. However, she does not like the food. Her room is fine and she has plenty of room for all her stuff. There are activities for her, like cards, games, and crafts, but with her fractured shoulder I'm not sure how much she can do right now. The staff is great. She loves the boy that serves her food, he's just very friendly.

Tinley Court is an exceptionally friendly community. The staff is exceptionally courteous, professional, caring, and concerned about the residents. Three meals a day areincluded. They have a registered nurse on the premises 24/7, and the doctor visits once a week. They are very friendly and supportive of veterans, and they allow smoking in a particular room outside. They have great food, and there are no down payments or community fee, just monthly fees. It is not modern and gorgeous, but it’s homey and lovely. The rooms are basically one size but without kitchenette.

A friend of mine had been living here in Tinley Court for a couple of years now before I came in here, so I've been here to see her. I liked it, and she is happy here and well taken care of. It's only been a few months since I moved in. They got different size rooms. I got a studio room apartment, but it's quite large, and it's got everything I need. The dining room serve excellent, well cooked food -- three meals a day. They also have things going on, like bingo, bunkle, and all kinds of things going on. It's up to the person moving in what they choose to do. My room has got everything I need, and it's all carpeted. The staff are all very friendly. I guess local people work here and live here. It's a very nice place to be. That's what attracted me to it besides my friend living here for a couple of years. I'm very happy here. They're nice people. I'm left on my own because I'm capable of being on my own, but if I needed help, I can get it. They feed me well, and the food is excellent. The housekeeping comes in and clean my floors, and I just take care of the bed. It's a very nice place. I've worked in an assisted living home for years in the front office, so I know how they can be and how they should be run. I've seen other parts of the building too where they have people that need more care, and it seems like they're well taken care of.

Dad’s wife was in a hospital and we had to put him somewhere immediately, so we put him in an assisted living facility called Tinley Court. We considered the location and availability. He goes back and forth to meal time, and other than that, the only exercise or activity he is getting is when one of my brothers or myself go there and take him walking down the hallway or out of the building. They are not there to give him physical fitness; they’re there to assist him in living.

My uncle is in Tinley Court. It is small, and everything is pretty much on one floor. They have a second floor, which is also small. The apartment that they called a studio is really more like just a room with a bathroom. My uncle has been there not even two weeks, and he likes it. He has three meals a day and he thinks the food is good. He likes the people and the staff. The staff is very friendly. They get along well with the residents. I notice that they have exercise every morning, and they do other things, like bingo and a couple of movie nights a week.
