The Sheridan at Tyler Creek is the closest to where I live from a convenience perspective, but it's the most expensive. I've been there to visit people who used to live in my neighborhood who now live there. So I have a tour. I saw the facility, and then I had a conversation with the placement person. I was able to go up to the assisted living apartment. It's relatively new, but it's very well maintained. They had protocols and procedures in place when we went in to make sure we signed them and we had our masks on for COVID prevention. There's a nice public area for people to socialize in, and on each floor on the landing, as you come out of the elevator, there's a little reading area, little shelves with books, that people could walk from their apartments just down to the elevator to pick up a book to take back to their rooms. When we visited our friend, we were very impressed with how big her apartment was. It was only one bedroom, but she had a very large bedroom and had access from both her bedroom and the entryway into the apartment, into the bathroom, so she had multiple accesses into the bathroom. The bathroom was very big and generous. If she were in a wheelchair, you could handle her access in that room. It had a small kitchenette, a full-sized refrigerator, and it was a nice space. The staff that I met were very friendly, and the one thing about it when I called them back to see more detail about the benefits that they had for mom, they are pet friendly and that's one of my criteria for my mom, is a pet-friendly place because she has a puppy that she will not be able to be without. I observed that there was a table with a jigsaw puzzle and people were working on the puzzle. There were people in the lobby just talking and in another location where people were watching television.

The Sheridan at Tyler Creek was very clean. The staff was very friendly. We were able to see just about every place that we would want (i.e., the dining and the movie theater). There wasn't much activity going on at the time. I believe the folks were all still in their rooms. It seemed very homey and very welcoming. We were impressed. We saw the assisted living apartment area, but it's very possible in the next six months or so that mom will be moving into the memory care; so we saw both. The staff was wonderful and very informative. I could tell that she enjoyed what she was doing. She shared with us that she had been working and volunteering in communities like this since she was 12 years old. It's pretty much been her life. I was very impressed by her, her knowledge, and her warmth. I also liked the way she spoke to my mom and ask questions. We were very comfortable with her. The rooms were very nice, much roomier than I had expected. We went into the one-bedroom apartment and the studio as well. I thought they were both quite adequate for a resident living there. I was very impressed. It was very clean and very homey. I could see setting my mom up in there.

The Sheridan at Tyler Creek was OK. The apartments were OK. The place was just a little smaller than where my dad is. The particular apartment that he was going to be assigned to did not have enough natural light, but it was clean and nice. The staff was very good. I know they had a dining hall, an exercise room, and a courtyard.

My mom is now a resident of The Sheridan at Tyler Creek. Our overall experience so far, including the staff, has been pretty good. Her room is an apartment and it's quite nice. They have a room with a couple of equipment pieces in it, but it's not a real gym. They have a nice dining room, they have a big opening space in the entryway, but I'd say they don't have a lot of overall space. They have about five activities for the residents every day. The location is in town and they have transportation. My mother and the residents like the food, it's decent, and even my brother loves it.

Staff was very supportive & friendly to both resident & family. I was very comfortable knowing my 99 yr old mother had a 24/7 monitor of her well being. Staff & managers went out of there way to accommodate resident needs and emotional support. Physical building is well lit, laid out for wheelchairs/walkers etc. I recommend this facility highly.

A newer facility but lacking in very general basic daily requirements. My mom is a resident. They have not had RN on staff for more than 3 weeks to do assessments and oversee the CNA staff for over year. On several occasions residents have waited extremely long periods of time for a response after pushing their assistance buttons. This makes me very nervous in the event of an immediate emergency. The food service is adequate at best as there is constant turnover in the kitchen. Food is a main event and highlight of the day for residents and should be a priority but they seem to keep cutting quality as they implement increases in the cost of living. There are activities but they are limited and redundant. There is a very high turnover in management and staff which makes for a very inconsistent living environment. Sheridan can and should do better for their residents.

The Sheridan at Tyler Creek looks nice, new, and modern. I saw bingo going on and entertainment coming in to play the piano. The offer three meals a day. They have healthcare and housekeeping. The staff is very helpful and nice to my mom, so they've been good.

I have an uncle in The Sheridan, but I also toured the place for Mom. I thought the tour was thorough, and they were wonderful in as far as care and concern for mom. It was expensive, but they have respite care, and you can stay for a minimum of a week to ten days. There were some minor issues with my uncle, but these were resolved.

Beautiful new facility. Staff is friendly and caring. Does not accept Medicaid; self-pay only. The only complaint I've heard after the first 2 weeks is that occasionally the dining room staff 'forgets' something (dessert, coffee), but Dad isn't the kind of guy who'll just flag someone down and let them know he's waiting for something. For someone with memory issues, he's extremely unforgiving of lapses in others.

The Sheridan at Tyler Creek had more of a nursing home setting, which is what I want to get away from. When I visited, they told me they didn’t have an on-site psychiatrist, which I think memory care facilities should have. It wasn’t until after I visited that they told me that they were working with one. I wasn’t really impressed at all. It had more of a hospital feeling rather than a homey setting. The people seemed like they were friendly with the staff and knew of them, so they seemed to get along well.

The Sheridan at Tyler Creek was a brand new facility. It was in good shape. I thought it was more hospital like than more cozy. The rooms and the dining area were very nice and modern.

The Sheridan was the one mom chose, and she chose it because it’s brand new; nobody has lived there before. She is not going to be an outsider coming in as a new person. The service is the same everywhere as far as I could tell. There wasn’t anything in particular that stood out because of the new facility we couldn’t go anywhere to get anyone else’s opinion. It’s gorgeous but not open yet. She chose a 1-bedroom, and because it’s brand new it’s carpeted, and it has a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator. There’s a cook top and a microwave, and it looks like an apartment. Some of the others that we toured didn’t really look so much like an apartment. Susan was great; she was very patient in showing my mom all the things that were available to her. We toured 10 apartments to see the view. She was just really patient. The chef wasn’t there, so we couldn’t taste the food.
