Brighton Gardens of St. Charles doesn't look esthetic, it looks homey. It's a very relaxed feeling among the residents, and it looks very welcoming. It doesn't have any smell like you would think. They were decorating and I haven't seen the finished product yet, but they're decorating what is going to be phenomenal. Very homey, very relaxing for residents just to see Christmas trees everywhere. The staff was wonderful. She answered all my questions. She even asked me questions and was very, very knowledgeable and caring. The residents looked like they were enjoying the food. They have on staff, doctors and podiatrists. They use a pharmacy, so it's not like I have to go pick up prescriptions for my mom, it would all be taken care of for her. They also have comfort care animals and you're allowed to have pets there, also.

You won't find a place like this one. I cannot recommend Brighton Gardens enough. They allowed my grandfather to live his last year of life with dignity and unmatched care. He was loved, doted on, and every time I went to visit he was content and clearly well cared-for. His room was neat, clean, and he always had what he needed. The facility is beauitful, bright, and felt like a home- never a hospital. They keep their residents busy with activities daily and they make sure to get to know them and their interests upon moving in. Grandpa was a big Cubs fan and they made sure to put the games on for him during the season. End of life care is an almost impossible decision to make, and I cannot thank you folks enough for what you did for my grandfather and to ease our minds when we couldn't be there. Even during a pandemic, you made it work and never once had us feel like a burden for checking in on him. It is SO hard to find folks in human services that have genuine passion and dedication but yours has been as clear as glass since day one. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Brighton Gardens of St. Charles is so much bigger than the other community I visited. To me it did not have a homey feel because it was a big community. They didn't have bathrooms in the rooms, and I didn't like that at all because my dad is legally blind. The residents have to go into a shower area to take a shower and stuff like that, and that was a turn off for me. The staff member who assisted me was very friendly, although she was not as friendly as the staff member from the other community. They have an activities coordinator but there were no activities going on when I visited. I would suggest that the rooms have showers in them, especially since they're a memory care community.
