My mom has been at Sunrise of Barrington for eight years now, and she's been happy there. She considers it her home. They take good care of her, and we never had any problem. My mother is a very picky eater, and they make her what she wants. It's got to be good because she's not starving. The place is beautiful, and she's got a nice room. I think they play games, they go on field trips when the weather is warm, and they have movie nights. They do a lot. The place has always been clean when I've been in there, and I've never seen anything dirty. My mom's room has always been nice and clean as well as her bathroom.

I found Sunrise of Barrington to be very dark; there's not much light. The place has not been updated. It hadn't been there that long so I was actually surprised to see that it wasn't very light, not up-to-date and looked a little worn. There was no outdoor garden or place to walk, they only had terraces. There's a lot of traffic noise outside because it was located by the main highway. When you first walk in it's fine, they have a therapy dog and a therapy cat which roam the community. I like that and that gives diversion to the patients there. Once you got out of the lobby, the facilities were older with old wallpaper, old furniture and things were worn. It just didn't give a homey feel.
