I went to Charter Senior Living of Poplar Creek. The ladies that helped us were very knowledgeable and friendly. They answered all of our questions, which we appreciated. The facility was clean, beautiful, and well-managed. There were nurses there 24 hours a day in the memory care unit and everyone we came in contact with seemed engaging and interested in the residents.
The rooms were very clean, neat, and large enough for one person and their belongings. We liked that. We appreciated that they call the groupings of the people, neighborhoods, instead of wards or facilities. You could get a room for two persons like with a roommate, and there were individual rooms also. The dining area was empty, but it looked more like a restaurant than it did a facility, which I liked.
At the time, they were doing some kind of a craft project for Valentine's Day and it looked like they had quite a few residents participating. There was a jigsaw puzzle downstairs. I was very impressed. Everyone was very friendly and willing to talk to us and answer our questions.

Charter Senior Living of Poplar Creek looked like it was in the process of being rebuilt. There wasn't much staff there, except for John and one woman, I didn't notice others. It was a little discouraging because I've been through other places and they had staff attending to patients hand and foot all over the place. This place wasn't set up yet too well. But it was clean and they had nice visitation areas for their patients. I saw the patients there and they all seemed to be well taken care of. The rooms I saw were very nice and nicely arranged. It was encouraging, compared to all the other places. Now we just need to make sure that it fits our needs. They have a salon, they have a courtyard.
