Staff is mediocre. My grandma seemed pretty unkempt and unkept. Everything seemed directed towards the substance center there.

I know someone that is there and not getting the care he needs at all. No antibiotics or insulin nor changing his open wound. The room had a roach and several mice. The staff is really no help at all.

This place is unprofessional and do not care about their residents. My brother (who is not in his right state of mind) walked out in the middle of the night at 130am,..they did NOT notify my mother until 1130 am!! 9hrs later. He is now considered a missing person, because no one working at the facility tried to walk out the door and get him, either that or they were sleeping on the job!! This was four nights ago and still no sign of my

Ridgeview was terrible. They didn’t do any training and they flipped my brother over the bed and he fell onto the floor. He can’t use his legs at all. I didn’t care for that place at all. The rooms are adequate, but they didn’t have grills on his bed. I don’t think there is really a setup for people in his situation. It’s rundown, but it’s clean

This facility located on the north side of chicago, has a bed hold of 136 residents it looks to be very small in nature. There are usually 2 residents that share a room, and the residents are transported to different out side vendors for dialysis services. They do accept skilled level of care, and the meals are served by the staff. The facility was fair in appearence, and they have quite a few veterans residing here. The smoking is monitored by the staff, and while I was there I witnessed some of the residents participating in activities being given by staff. In general, I would rank this facility 3 out of 5 stars.

This is an urban nursing home that provides short-term rehab and long term care for persons with chronic mental illness. It is located in a safe, culturally diverse, primarily residential area on the north side of the city, easily accessible by public transportation. One aspect that makes Ridgeview stand out is its small size; many similar facilities are twice this size in number of residents. The smaller size allows staff to get to know residents more readily; there is a feeling of "family" here that is down to earth and genuine. It is not fancy, but it is also not pretentious. Staff is kind and treat residents, family members, and one another with respect and kindness. Management is hands-on and also down-to-earth. The food is average, with no major problems. There is a designated patio area for outdoor space, and many residents will walk on the nearby residential streets and also a few blocks over onto the main street to the nearby shops. The common areas are not huge, and there is not really any "extra space" in the building, but efforts are made so that the lounging areas for residents, which are mainly on the ground floor and lower level, are comfortable. Rooms are typically shared doubles, and are of average size. There is enough space to bring in a television and a few small personal items, but not much else. If the aesthetics were better, the facility would rate higher as this is not an easy population to care for and Ridgeview doe a good job overall.
