My husband is at StoryPoint Romeoville. It was closer for me. I'm 75 years old and don't like to drive that much. Everything was just what we needed for my husband at the time. The staff are very cooperative. They answer all my questions and my daughter's questions. They are just a super group of people to work with, that's for sure. The rooms are very nice. His room has a single bed, a dresser, a nightstand, a lamp, and a chair. The bathroom is very big. My husband is going to start OT and PT, but I know they play games in the afternoon. He's already gone on an outing to a restaurant for lunch. They keep him pretty busy.

I moved my mom back home from Florida and was amazed with StoryPoint Memorycare. What a difference from where she was at in Florida. She has a corner room that I just love. She has made friends and is happy.
StoryPoint does activities and I know they are trying to do even more and they go on trips. Yes, they take road trips. Bless their hearts. Can't please everyone but they sure do try, no place is perfect. I'm so glad to have my mom back home.

Generally most of the time my husbands care and caregivers, nurses are very good. Therw is especially a caregiver and nurse Im very fond of. On occasion I've found my husband wearing the same pants multiple days in a row.
Lately it seems there is changes with staffing and I see new faces all the time. I understand there has been a transition since another company took over Senior Star and I'm hoping things will improve. I also understand there's staffing shortages everywhere but I am also paying big money for his care. I'm trying to be patient and giving it a little time to see if the consistency improves.

Story Point has been a great place for my father. His caregivers are helpful and are able to answer our questions. The regular outings my Dad gets to join keep him invested in the community.

I visited the memory care here. They have independent and assisted living as well. I only got to meet a couple of the people because they were just opening up, but that's the place I chose to send my mom once she gets out of the hospital. I liked everything about the place. They had just opened up for viewing. The facility was very nice, and the room was fully furnished, very neat, and very pretty. They had quite a few stations for people that suffer from dementia and Alzheimer's. They had lots of things for the people to do and they were doing activities when I was exiting the building. They had residents at the tables and some of them had tablets that they were gonna work with, and I think they were doing some type of a bingo game.
