This is a small facility with a consistent and caring staff. I am a retired RN and so my standards for my mom's care are quite high. I am very pleased with the medical oversight of the residents and their communication and responsiveness with me. My mother is quite frail and need for 24-hour assistance is high. I am very relieved to have her in this facility which is small enough that her habits and wishes are known and she is not a number with a revolving cast of caregivers.

My mom stayed in Alden Gardens of Des Plaines initially, and it was very good overall. We would give them a very high ranking except for the high price. They had a lot better care than the second facility she was in before. Their response to whatever my mom needed was a lot better. The food was a lot better. Overall it wasn't bad. They clean the room almost every day and wash the bathroom constantly. I know there was some activity, but my mom did not participate.
