We went to Rock Run Place Assisted Living. There was a miscommunication somehow, and the girl who was supposed to give us the tour wasn't there. The activity director gave us the tour and she did fine. It felt a little more like a nursing home. It's not something that Mom would enjoy at this juncture. The room was fine. It was a studio that we looked at, which felt a little confining. The only thing that we saw was that they were going to be starting a game, but we had the activity director giving us the tour, so they were waiting for her. The one thing that wouldn't be ideal for my mother-in-law is there was a very set eating schedule there. They had a dining area. I met just the lady at the front desk and then the activity director.

My first time visiting my mother. I was in horror because her bed had feces on it, it was on her fabric footboard of her new bed it was on the wall and floor smeared and walked throughout the floor ; it had been there long enough to be dried out as well. When brought to the attention of the staff I received an apology and and a thank you for cleaning it up. When I was cleaning it up I moved the bed and the feces was pushed under the bed. Feces was also on her nightstand light. I arrived shortly after her lunch, she had food on her and her hands had feces on them. I was very heart broken that the staff seemed very uninterested in the residents. I’m hoping that this was an isolated incident and that my mom will be given the attention and dignity that every human that suffers deserves. She had been at another facility and fell and never had incidents. She comes here and in a week she is labeled hostile and cops are called and she falls and her entire head is swollen and discolored and the staff pokes her head and says yeah she’s swollen. They up her meds to keep her docile since she’s considered hostile, and suddenly she’s in palliative care??? Hmmm guess I might need to call my lawyers. I
