Lutheran Hillside Village is a fantastic facility and is obviously spiritually-based with a Lutheran background. It’s a large facility that has everything from independent living, to assisted living, to memory care, to nursing. My mother moved from independent to memory care, and my stepfather moved from independent to assisted to nursing, and I'm very pleased. I love the continuum of care. The facility and the staff are outstanding. My mother and stepfather have been very happy. In memory care, there are activities every day, and on Fridays, they take a bus trip somewhere. When they were in independent living they took them to a basketball game, they took them to local health club every day if they wanted to go, and they had outings several times. It's a very active community and it's a good value. It's a higher end home, which is why it's more expensive than others, but the care is better.

I choose Lutheran Hillside Village. It is a clean facility. It has a benevolent care arrangement. It has continuum of care from independent living like we have all the way to skilled nursing. They have moving assistants who help arrange furniture and helps in pre-planning on room sizes. They have assistance with the moving expenses too. The food is perfect! It has a restaurant arrangement. They have full meal service breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

My parents ended up at Lutheran Hillside Village. We chose it because of continuum of care, so they will never need to move again. My dad ended up in skilled care and my mom is still in an apartment, and it's all under one roof. The apartment is beautiful and completely renovated before my mom moved in. The food is outstanding. The care is very good for my dad. It's very Christian-centered care. He feels very safe and secure, and it was reasonably priced. They do have long and short-term rehab there, so if my mom needs that, she can rehab right under the same roof. There are daily activities in skilled care, i.e., arts and crafts, movies, bingo, manicures and pedicures, something going at least twice a day to which the residents are invited to keep them engaged and active. On the independent side, they have lots of committees, outings, and daily activities, i.e., music, bus trips to the theater, to sporting events, and to museums.
