Saratoga Grove was more of a simpler way of living. The room that we saw was a one-bedroom with a little living room. There's no kitchen, but it had a microwave. The residents eat their meals in the dining room. The rooms were smaller. If you wanted a two-bedroom unit, they would have to cut a hole between two one-bedroom units and make a doorway. Most of the units were one-bedroom and just a few were two-bedroom, but they will accommodate you if that's what you want. They had activities on a smaller scale. Their big plus was they will help people get on Medicaid. They had an excellent physical therapy unit there that's pretty well known in the area for being top notch.

I was not happy with Saratoga Grove. I had an appointment and they weren't ready for me. The person that showed me around was new. She was fine but did not know a lot. The hallways weren't carpeted, so I thought the place was noisy. When she took me to a room, we sat down and talked, but you can hear people with walkers shuffling down the hall. The rooms were small. I saw the lunch that they served, and I thought it was terrible and very unattractive. It was the least expensive of the places I visited, but I would not want to move there myself. The staff was doing the best they could. Their computer monitors were those huge things that have been outdated for 20 years. Their equipment was old. In the independent living, the laundry facilities were down in the lower level and you'd have to take your clothes on an elevator to get them washed. It would not be easy for a senior to live there. They only had one entree for lunch, but you could get a hamburger. My aunt is a foodie and she would hate that food.
