My dad is currently in rehab at River Crossing of St Charles. It's inviting and comfortable. They have a courtyard. The staff seems very caring. I think they're shorthanded as staff, so lack of attention sometimes is based on that.

This Rosewood location has an amazing therapy team (not sure about the others). However, the nursing care is awful, more professional training is definitely needed. I would not never send my family member here if they needed extensive nursing care Also, from a bystanders point of view it doesn't appear to be a very tight knit work environment (a lot of employee stress and hostility). As for the patients' rooms, the building is very old looking (updates needed) and it doesn't appear to be very clean.

I spent 2 weeks here for rehab. Every nurse, aid and other staff member worked hard to take care of every patient- and were nothing but professional and kind, no matter how difficult and challenging some patients were, or when they were understaffed. They truly impressed me! Yes, sometimes the wait was long when they had an understaffed timeframe, but I cannot blame that on them. They would apologize and take care of patients by urgency as appropriate. They listened to patients and families and took care of any complaints. I made friends with many residents who told me they were satisfied living here. Many had transfered fron nearby places they were unhappy with. The food was ok, not great but not bad either- and if you did not like something that was on the menu, they had quite a few options to change your meal. I had three different rehab therapies: arms/hands, legs and visual/memory/speech. That staff was truly PHENOMENAL! They made it fun, they were sweet & their methods extremely effective. For a center that has to rely on many Medicare payments & budget cuts from IL, I have nothing but good things to say!

Don't let someone you love get "care" here. Nobody came by for more then an hour after my grandfather was admitted. There was ONE thing that needed to especially happen while he was there-a tube from his kidney needed to be flushed. They were too busy to do that apparently. When his feet started to swell and turn purple they didn't feel it was important enough to call a doctor for since "the doctor wouldn't be in until Monday." Good thing we called my grandpa's urologist to intervene and get him out of there and back to the hospital. Terrible place.

My elderly mother was there for several months recovering from kidney failure. It was a beautiful facility. the dtaff is very young, friendly and energetic. I credit the staff with her full recovery. She enjoyed the social activites that were provided. The therapy she recieved was life saving. she recieved physical therapy every day and occupational therapy 3 times a week. The therapists were patient and understanding. Mom raved about the meals and the staff. At the end of her stay she did not want to leave. she still keeps in contact with some of the other residents as well as the activity director and a couple of the nurses. One of the best facilities in the state of Illinois

The food was terrible and the nurses were negligent to my family member. While the facility was helpful for recovering from serious illness, the environment had a negative influence on both of my relatives health. Much of the staff did not speak English which made it difficult to communicate. There was nearly no sense of community between the residents of the facility and my relatives spent most of their time in their rooms. While the facility accommodated for persons without special needs, the living situation was uncomfortable. While they have X-Ray services, physical therapy services, and pharmacy services on-site, they were all relatively subpar. As they had 8 deficiencies in its past 2 state inspections compared to the IL average of 11 and complaints compared to the IL average of 3, we moved our family member from the facility. The facility was relatively well located and was within a five minute drive from restaurants and a pharmacy.
