I have been living at Bridgeway of Bensenville since 2020. I'm in independent, although there are some assisted living people in here, too. The staff is pleasant. One of the big things was the price. My aunt who is living at the other place in a one-bedroom, one-bath is paying almost double of what I am paying for a two- bedroom, two-bath at this place.
They're all friendly. The person at the reception desk who was here for the longest time just retired, but there's another woman that's there now for the last few months, and she's very, very pleasant, too. The nurse is very helpful with all the COVID stuff. We've been doing testing quite regularly, and so far, so good for me.
I get breakfast and dinner, but the assisted living people get three meals a day. The food is pretty good. There are days when I'm not crazy about it, but generally we have several choices for appetizers. There's usually a soup, a fruit cup, cottage cheese, and salad and you can choose two from there. There are usually two choices for entrees and then a dessert. If you don't like the dessert, they usually have ice cream. It's pretty balanced.
The facility is quite good. There is the option of the garage, which I take in the winter, but to save a little bit of money, I park outside, like now. That's $65 a month. The rent includes utilities, so I really don't pay for anything except my TV. They have a lot of activities throughout the month. For instance, on Friday, we're going to celebrate the birthdays for this month and it's going to be a luau. They are even bringing in Hawaiian dancers.
There are a few things that need to be done. Like everybody else, they're short of staff sometimes. There are a few maintenance things that they could improve on, like window washing, especially on the outside. They have been improving on washing in the hallways and stuff, but there are a few miscellaneous issues that need to be taken care of. I'm actually on the resident council and we have a monthly meeting and we bring up different things to management and tell them what we would like them to do and we get some results.
This was the best value for what you get. Some of the apartments had washers and dryers, but I'm right around the corner from our laundry room for this area. There are two laundry rooms each floor, and they have two washers and two dryers in them.

I've been in Bridgeway of Bensenville for almost 11 years now. We have a doctor here in the building, but just once a year or so do I see him. I like the friendliness of everyone here. The staff and everyone was very friendly and willing to help with anything we might have a problem with. They're doing a lot of remodeling here and they have made a lot of improvements, which is good. We have two meals, breakfast and dinner. The food overall has been good. We have bingo and we have movies. I don't participate in a lot of them because it's not to my liking, but there's lots of craft things. We have a bus here and they take us to the store and to different locations and to the doctors and I like that part of it. The staff has been great. We're getting what we deserve here.

Bridgeway of Bensenville has been a blessing for my father. At 91 years old he prides himself on living independently. At Bridgeway he is treated with respect by administration and caregivers alike. He considers the employees his friends. He can choose from a list of activities but is often content to Just bury himself in his library in his own sanctuary, a studio first corner room with a little patio. He can choose what he wants from the dining hall menu or where to go on the facility bus. Our family has seen no change in Dad’s overall appreciation of Bridgeway & realize how blessed we ALL feel about this caring place. Food at Bridgeway is good tho Dad is one who has always liked spicy and piping hot entrees. Hard to get spicy or piping hot in this or any senior facility we guess. Recent updates to the decor are beautiful and inviting. So if independent living is what you seek we would say put this facility on your list.

I didn't like Bridgeway Senior Living at all. It smelled like urine, and to me, it looked like an old school that they converted into a senior rehab and living. The staff was okay, but I wouldn't consider that place. They need to clean more and make it homier.

My aunt's apartment is very spacious. It has the full kitchen that she wanted AND a balcony! She has a one bedroom and it is more than enough space for her. Just ask her how she likes her apartment! She will invite you in for a tour. She is very proud of it!
I only met a few staff, but they were all very nice and friendly. My aunt has told me that they respond right away when she needed help fixing her TV and connecting her internet.
My aunt loves the activities! She is very social and participates in everything she can. She has also met many new people just by going to the activities. She told me she wishes she did this move years ago!

Bridgeway of Bensenville was a very nice facility. It didn't have as many features as the other places, but the person who gave me the tour was very informative and helpful. There was nothing spectacular about the dining area. I saw a 1-bedroom apartment, and it was nice. The living area was a little small, which concerned me because I have bookcases. They have general activities like cards and a small area for exercise equipment.

My aunt is in Bridgeway of Bensenville in a two-bedroom apartment. It's perfect. I am able to bring her living room furniture, dining table, bed, and dresser. She shares it with a roommate who has her own separate bedroom, closets and bathrooms. The only thing that they share is the common areas, living room, and the kitchenette. Everything is included: three meals a day, laundry, and cable television. The only thing I supply her with is her medicines and toiletries. They have different activities every day and a little bus that takes them around. They are all active and don't just sit in their rooms. She was as happy as she can be. She loves it.

The staff at Bridgeway of Bensenville were extremely friendly. The room size was nice, and the layout was good. The price was a little bit high, but the place is very nice. They have a common area where people can get together and play cards or socialize. They have meals that can be brought to the room. The grounds are really nice, where people can walk around outside.

My mother knew about Bridgeway, and they were very friendly there. This is a small facility, and the staff was all very nice. The rooms were nice, about the typical size, and the kitchen was not as nice I would say as the other facility we visited, but the balconies were beautiful.
They have crafts, a fitness center, and a game room. They were very nice and very friendly. The prices were very good, but it’s the farthest away from me.

I am so thankful that we made an appointment to see Bridgeway of Bensenville because it was half the price of everywhere else we went and my aunt-in-law is getting a lot more at Bridgeway than most of those expensive places. The room is gorgeous. She actually has her own apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a dining room. I like their staff the best. They are very polite, very kind, and they watch over her if I have any problems. If I just call them up and ask that they check on her, they will walk down to her room and check on her no matter what time it was. It is a very nice facility. I had no problems with them at all and she is so happy there.

When we walked in to Bridgeway of Bensenville, we felt that that was it. They were very, very nice and friendly. The open area was very nice as well as the apartment and it's not that expensive. The people are wonderful and really make you feel at home. The food is very good. I'll recommend this place to other people.

I really like the Bridgeway because of the relaxed atmosphere from the moment I drove up to the ease of getting into the building. There is plenty of parking. I was greeted by a receptionist behind the desk at the entrance who was helpful, but also guarded, wanting to ensure the privacy of the residents. The desk was not at all institutional looking, more like a hotel desk. The lobby itself is spacious and there was music piped in. Several residents were sitting on comfortable chairs chatting with one another. It was very clean and comfortable. In the middle of the lobby was a lovely dining room. When I was there it was lunch time and sparse, but I later went into a small eatery on the first floor which I found to be very reasonable and good. It's probably the only fresh fruit salad that you would get for under $2.50.
What I also liked about the building is that there is a washroom on the first floor and you can also use stairs as well as the elevator to get to the second floor.
On the second floor there is a wellness center and small gym. There is also a large multipurpose activity room in which residents gather for different lectures.
The apartments were very nice, clean and had all the amenities. The halls were clean and well ventilated. There were no bad smells anywhere. The only downside is that there seemed to be little diversity in terms of religion and race. The Bridgeway advertises itself as a "Christian" facility. There also is not a lot in the area nearby in terms of restaurants and stores.
