Meadowbrook Manor - Naperville is a nursing home, and I liked what I've seen. It felt like home. I just liked what they did and what they showed me. The price was a little bit less than where mom is at now and they accept Medicare or Medicaid. However, they never got back to me and I don't know why. They were going to have to review her clinical report because there's a couple of people that had to look it over, but they never contacted me and I left them two messages.
I was impressed with the rooms they showed me. They were very clean. They showed me the whole facility and the family room where they would eat dinner. It's also a rehab. They had an area where if you wanted to go outside with the residents and that was very nice.
I didn't have any food, but they were making cookies and selling cookies. They do this on Thursdays, and the donation goes towards movie nights and things that the resident can do or see or whatever and I thought that was nice. They had a place where they can go watch TV or in their rooms. I'm sure they had activities for them. It's just that I know my mother wouldn't participate in anything, but they had things for them to do. It isn't just "throw them in a room and leave them." It was clean and we didn't smell anything. It was a clean nursing home.

My husband was in rehab at Meadowbrook Manor. It was a positive experience. Their physical therapy was very proactive. It helped enormously with my husband's problem. The staff was very caring and I was very impressed with them. The managers were very upbeat, very positive, and very proactive. I was very happy with the place. Food looked appetizing and balanced. We were pleased with their food.
They had church services. We attended a church service one Sunday there. They also had an ice cream parlor and a library. They looked to be comfortable and inviting. The people were very pleasant, which was a real plus. The building itself was clean, well-appointed and very nice to look at. They had a very pretty outside area where you could sit when the weather was nice. The rooms are simple but clean.

My mother was at Meadowbrook Manor for the last months of her life. I was truly grateful that they were able to give her all the care she needed. This is a pleasant, bright, sunny, clean facility surrounded by gardens like my mother grew for herself until she was no longer able. Of all the staff at the hospitals and rehab facilities where my mother sought care during more than a year of serial crises, the doctors, nurses, social workers and support and administrative staff here were consistently the most supportive, attentive, communicative, and dependable.
