The rooms are clean but not as much room as needed. The staff are wonderful for the most part. If you’re a daily visitor they seem much more helpful. But with Covid at this time the management is doing an unacceptable job. Within a month it’s the 2nd out break of Covid. They put patients in isolation for 10 days with 1 nurse taking care of about 30 patients and doing jobs that a CA should be doing but there aren’t any most of the time. Patients get no baths or help when need. These patients need help and it’s up to management to get help.

Like a lot of places, this one is horrible under staffed. My relative needs special diet. The kitchen makes same salty meals for everyone. My relative has encontinance, and sits in piss every day. Not enough workers to Change them.

DO NOT DO NOT bring someone to this facility They never dressed my mother unless she had a doctor appointment, leaving her in a hospital gown for weeks. She was unable to use her hands to feed herself, and the overburdened (truly) staff rarely had time to feed her. When things took a turn and we wanted to move her into hospice, we were told that it would cost $360/day ($11,160/month) for JUST ROOM AND BOARD!. Full nursing home care there was @$6300/month.

My mother-in-law moved into Thrive of Lake County. It is new, clean, and bright. She's in a single room instead of a double. They are a little short-staffed, which I think most of the nursing homes are. So we are having a little trouble getting my mother-in-law fed because she can't feed herself, but other than that, things are very good. Everybody's very nice there, so no problems at all. It's a very nice facility. They do have activities, but I'm not that familiar with them because my mother-in-law really is not capable of taking advantage of them.

My wife is at Thrive of Lake County, and she is coming home soon. She has been there before. She had a UTI and she gets weak when that happens, and there was no question in her mind that she wanted to go to Thrive. She likes the staff, and they like her. The staff has somewhat changed due to the pandemic, but the therapists are phenomenal and she absolutely likes them. There are many different units. It's relatively new, less than probably 18 months. She's in the rehab portion of it. She gets physical therapy, occupational as well as speech. Like other facilities, management is having a hard time finding staff. With the pandemic, folks are afraid to leave the house and things of that nature. Lucky for us, some of the staff that saw her last time are still there now. Last time I gave the staff a five, but there's turnover again because of the pandemic. Other than the therapies, she really doesn't leave the room. I see her every day. They do not let her stay in bed all day. She's in a lounge chair. In the rehab portion, there's little activity. I would assume that in the other parts of the facility there probably are activities. It's a brand-new place and it's exceedingly clean. You get to know from the front desk all the way through, like her part of the facility, everybody. When she cameand I walked through the door, the receptionist up there just yelled out, "He's back!" So, we get to know them well and that makes it a lot better. Medicare is paying for this.

My wife is at Thrive of Lake County. I would recommend them. So far, they've been good because she refuses to take any type of therapy, but they have coaxed her into it somehow or another, and they keep me abreast by telephone calls about what she's doing, what she's not doing, and things like that. She doesn't eat, but they keep bribing her to eat and stuff like that. It's a brand spanking new building that opened this year. Their exercise room is quite large. They have a lot of different types of machines. I haven't had the privilege to see the rooms other than the lounges with the TV. I'm going to keep her there. It's less than 10 miles from my house.
