Welcome to The Glenwood Assisted Living of Effingham, Illinois

The Glenwood Assisted & Supportive Living is dedicated to providing customized services to meet the individual needs of our residents. Our unique plans are designed to offer a lifestyle that compliments a resident's independence with the quality of personal care each individual deserves. Our team recognizes that each of our residents have individual needs and preferences. Prior to admission, our administrative and nursing team will spend time with each resident and their family, to conduct an assessment in order to evaluate the need for assistance and support on a personal level.

The Glenwood Assisted Living of Effingham, Illinois opened in 2010. Our community features 42 apartments, including efficiency, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 2 bedroom-deluxe. Each apartment features a kitchenette, living room, bathroom with walk-in shower, bedroom with walk-in closet and private patio; apartment square footage ranges from 500-860 square feet of cozy, living space.

3 delicious, well-balanced, home cooked meals, per day

Scheduled group outings
Quarterly wellness evaluations, conducted by a licensed nurse
Trained, certified and caring staff, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Minimum of 4 wellness checks per day
Local transportation for scheduled physician appointments*

I had an in-person tour of The Glenwood Assisted Living of Effingham. Everything looked good. The people who helped us were very informative. I could take my dog. They had two bedrooms. They had bars and a room where you could exercise.

I visited The Glenwood Assisted Living of Effingham. They were really nice people. They cared. They answered all my questions. We saw the rooms. They were kind of spacious. I wasn't as pleased with it as I was hoping, but it was decent. They showed me some of their activities but it wasn't a lot to it. They gave me a pamphlet and told me that it was all in it, but there wasn't much to it.

The Glenwood is one of the newer homes in the area. I drove by it quite often and I thought to check it out for my mother. Eventually, that's where I placed her. The highlights for this community are their personal service and what they offer and also the fact that the facility is very well kept. It is brand new and it doesn't smell. It is also very nice and appropriate as far as the size. They have an exercise room, a chapel and a dining room. Their dining room is very large, open and airy. They also have places where you can actually meet in the private setting if you need to, like for 15 people you can actually use that room.

My mom's at the Glenwood assisted living. It's nice and very close to my brother and I. The room is nice sized. I've eaten there and the food is good. There's plenty of activities for the seniors, there's bingo, dominoes, and they have different field trips. They have a very nice courtyard.

The staff is very kind, attentive, and respectful. We have my grandfather on the highest level of care they provide, and they have followed through well, and provide very good care for him. There's many things to do around the facility, and a piano for my grandfather to play (which he loves). Their dining arrangements are great, around four people to a table instead of huge groups. He was provided with a wristband that he can use to page for assistance at any time. overall very clean, new and beautiful as far as facilities go.

This is such a beautiful facility is easily accessible and right where I need it. The staff is friendly and charming, making sure to tend to anything that I may need done. Along with the charming facility and friendly staff, the atmosphere is great as well. Since there is a hint of tranquility here, I don't have to worry about excessive noise or any other disturbances that may keep me from getting rest or watching my favorite television program. To anyone out there who is thinking about possible assisted living facilities for their loved one, then The Glenwood is most definitely worth checking out.
