Senior Suites of Hegewisch is independent living. I was totally surprised at how large the room was. There was a laundry room on each floor. My view would be of the garden. It was clean, but I got a sterile feeling when I first entered the building. It was like you're going into an institution. They have the wrong lighting, and there were no areas where you can actually just sit. I liked the size of the bathroom. You could get a wheelchair in there. I also liked the price. Their prices were more for independent living. They have transportation when you need to go to the grocery store or run some errands. Their apartments were much larger than the others I looked at, and there was a kitchenette. The price and the size of the room set it apart. The neighborhood was quiet, nice, clean, and tidy. The staff waited until we got there, which was really good. She took us around the floors and showed us different things. They don't offer meals anymore. You cook in your own place. They have a business office, where you get to use the computers on the first floor; that is something I would not be interested in. I like having my own in my apartment.

I checked out the Senior Suites of Hegewisch and there's a waiting list. I'm looking for a one-bedroom. It was really nice. They showed me a one-bedroom and they showed me a studio. They were very spacious and it was really nice, but I just couldn't afford the price they wanted. It's kind of expensive. The staff members were really nice, they have washer and dryer on each floor, and it was really homey. They have an activity room. They have a bus that goes by and a store. It's a nice environment, the people are friendly, and I would recommend it if you can afford it.

Senior Suites of Hegewisch was fantastic and I loved the apartment. They were very cordial. It was a nice, clean place, and I won't have to pay any utilities. I'd have my own parking and there were laundry facilities on every floor. There was a library, and you can go down to eat, so you don't have to cook, and there were lots of things available to you. The staff was great.

Nice very secure apartments for Seniors that can care for themselves. Major complaint is that visitor parking is at a minimum. The building is rather isolated with no shopping within walking distance. They do offer a weekly bus to shopping when it is not broken down. The CTA bus runs past the building.

Senior Suites was clean, and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. They don’t have a dining area; you cook and eat in your own apartment, and the apartments were nice.

It was a very easy experience at Senior Suites of Hegewisch. The property manager was very helpful; I can’t thank her enough because she went above and beyond to assist me in getting the proper paperwork together when I was having a hard time. They have bingo and crafts, and my father likes the fact that once a week they have a bus that comes and takes them to grocery shopping to make it easier for them when they don’t have a vehicle; he has one, but he enjoys going out with the group. His room was painted, and new carpeting was put down, so it was very clean once we moved in. It was just overall very easy move in process.
