About This Community
Often the mental demands of those struggling with Alzheimer's disease can take over the emotional needs. But at JEA Senior Living, we keep the emotional needs and feelings of your loved one at the very center of what we do.
Our exclusive Meaningful Moments® program is specifically designed to help meet the needs of those Residents with memory loss. We begin by discovering the life story of each individual's likes, dislikes and cherished memories. By adding details and preferences from each Resident's life story into their day, we can build comfort and a sense of meaning for each individual Resident. The result is a familiar atmosphere for your loved one.
Our Residents have access to a whole host of amenities and programming options to help keep them active and engaged in daily life.
There are excursions to restaurants and shopping, arts and crafts classes, movie nights and many chances for family and holiday celebrations. Our Meaningful Moments® program, paired with our active and engaged staff members at JEA Senior Living, brings together the very best Alzheimer's care.

I came to visit my grandmother at this facility and was very impressed. There was so much life and laughter in the building. I could tell that the residents were very loved and well taken care of. I happen to come during the lunch hour and noticed how well presented the lunch was plated up. The food looked very appetizing, and my grandmother said that the food is always good there. I hope that when I get older I can come to a place like Sugar Creek if I need to in the future. The activities that they do there are amazing. They do things that you would not think that dementia patients can do. I love how they challenge them. My grandma is so happy there and so are we.

My cousin is at Sugar Creek and we are there several times a week. It's always clean and the staff is very accommodating. The people that live there are nice and we love visiting with them too. It's the best choice if you need dementia care.

The rooms are extremely clean. The staff goes above and beyond for residents on a daily basis. I trust the management here and feel comfortable recommending Sugar Creek to new families considering options. Thank you all for doing such a wonderful job.

My wife is in Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center. I would say it's really positive, I feel good about the staff, she seems to have enjoyment quite a bit of the time. She's always glad in interactions with me by phone and window visits, and at least the report I get about her participation in the activity is good. I wasn't aware that she was doing that much, and I know that she does not like bingo, but they show her down and show up for bingo. Right now the COVID thing is limiting some things, but they have an activity center that shares with the dining room, and a screen that they show films on, and there is a TV room.

My father is now at Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center. I'm 100% satisfied with them and with the care that they're providing. However, the cost is eating away at his finances. Sugar Creek is like a home environment. My father shares a room with another male. It is not a stale or hospital-like environment like I see in a lot of nursing homes. It is very home-like. They care for the patients just like I would care for my own father. It is a wonderful place. They have a bus and that they use to take the residents out on excursions. They bring different people in to sing, and sometimes they bring animals in for the residents. They play bingo and they have singing activities. They have a lot of different activities. However, because of my father's frequent falls, Sugar Creek feels that they cannot keep him safe, because they don't have an alarm system hooked up to the bed. They have motion systems in the room, but they can't restrain the residents. He needs to be moved into a skilled facility because of his frequent falls to keep him safer.

My father lived at Sugar Creek for over 2 years until he passed away. While there are always things that one believes that could be improved upon for one's loved ones care, I believe that Sugar Creek does a very good job with the demetia and alzheimer's patients. My father was provided a safe, clean, stimulating environment in which to live. He told me many times that he was happy living there. Hopspice care was provided right there for him in his room at the end of his life and he died peacefully without causing any further confusing moves for him. I would recommend Sugar Creek for your family members with these health conditions.

We chose Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center for my uncle because it had an opening, and it's very difficult to find a place for him in the area. It has a pleasant environment, is well staffed, safe, and has a lot of activities.

I think Sugar Creek is a much nice facility, and the staff was just extraordinarily kind. It seemed very neat, clean, and seemed like it was in good order. I talked to the activities director, and she posts the schedule for the whole month. They encourage people to be involved unless it’s something they really don’t like. The rooms were spacious, and a closet for each person in there was very nice.

This nursing home is very nice as far as the rooms and the facility. They really do not want anyone who requires any extra care. The food while my husband was there was not adequate for some of the residents (men). The nursing supervisor is arrogant and overpowering. He basically runs the place and what he says goes. My husband was pushed around by another resident and he eventually fought back. Since the nursing supervisor came out of his office to see my husband fighting back. Everyone is the nursing home knew that this resident had been instigating fights but the supervisor would not take the word of others and blames my husband. When he was sent to the hospital for further medication, they would not accept him back. As long as that supervisor is there, I would not want my husband there but I have no problems with the nurses and caregivers. They were great!
