Brookstone Estates Tuscola was clean and secure when you walk in. The rooms were a little smaller but well kept. The lady there helped me a lot, was informative and willing to help. They have a lot of residents that just keep their doors open all day, so that kind of tells you something. It's like the residents feel comfortable enough to just have an open door. I didn't observe any activities or anything like that when I was there. They had a movie room.

My mother was on the waiting list at Brookstone Estates Tuscola, but when they did the assessment, they failed her. The tour was fine. The rooms were very nice. We found one that we liked, and it was on hold until they did the assessment. It was a very nice facility. My stepmother is there already. They had a movie room, very nice activities, and outings, and the security seemed really tight. Monitoring of everyone was included. They had two activities every day, one late morning and one early afternoon. They would try to get the people to interact and go do things. They had a very nice courtyard, and the dining area was really nice. It was cafe style with all these windows and light coming in. The staff was very good.

What we liked best about Brookstone was the one-bedroom apartment with two separate rooms. The staff working there was adequate. They had lots of activities. We ate a meal there. We thought that the food and the dining room were very good. I also know a lot of people who lived there who speak very highly about them. In totality, Brookstone would have been very nice for my mom.
