I was a resident at Copper Springs Senior Living. We didn't have nurses, we only had medtechs. They'll bring you ice water and give you medicine and cook food for you, but the food was lousy. Some of it you couldn't even eat, and you had to eat what you got, or else you're going to go hungry. I was not satisfied with the care that I got there. Most of the staff didn't know much about taking care of a diabetic. My doctor had me take my own insulin in my room and keep it in my little refrigerator because they didn't know what they were doing. At one point, they even gave me somebody else's insulin and it made me very, very sick. You can play cards and games, do arts and crafts, and they would take us shopping occasionally by the bus, but they didn't provide transportation to my doctor. It was up to me to get somebody to take me.

The staff is wonderful. I appreciate them a lot. They aren't pushy and they're helpful. It's a little more restricted than I'm looking for. What I would really like is more of an apartment setting type where you just come and go, because there have been times that my husband needed to be contained. All the meals are had in the dining room. It's very nice. They're very clean, very friendly. They have animals, which I liked. They offer a really good program. People come in for entertainment and holiday stuff. The dining room is pleasant, clean, very large, open, and inviting. I'm very pleased.
